All this guy is after is the chance to ride on the coat tails of this industry for exposure and monetary gain. We really don't need him to be part of this community and I hope they are told to not return?. but then again, Joe will probably cause more problems because no one wants him or his antics around.
This is total bullshit what they have pulled! In my opinion, Girls Gone Wild trashed a very special venue that has always meant so much to most of us :disgust

wow, they went into the streets and interviewed people? WTF!

Yep. It was Friday night, they went to the main intersection of Mill and Fifth with the camcorders, cameras and their photography staff and started to interview all these young girls.
My wife and I stood there in disbelief as well as other civilians (moms and dads) that they would pull this shit when the show was going on. The crowd started pretty small and it grew quickly before too long....when we finished our ice cram cones, we decided to go back to the Mission Palms. I don't know how much larger it got, but it sure drew some attention while we were there.

There were some others that did some stupid shit outside the grounds that drew some bad attention, but I am not going to even go there.

What a bunch of fucking hypocrites.. Alot of you got passes to attend our Closing party at Cherry Lounge, This was to attend an invite only area in the club as VIPs, you were anxious and happy to get in, and yet you now talk shit??? Sure Sure... Consume the booze, get hammered, dance your ass off, network, AND THEN post some bullshit. As the world turns, these are the days of our lives!!! Lightspeed Steve, GGW, and CCBill already talked and expressed concerns and views on this it was a hot topic for sure, but it's not something that was intentionally done by Joe..

Christina Muller 03-30-2008 06:24 PM

I really am not trying to be a smart ass here but the press release states this :
"Girls Gone Wild" is a co-sponsor of the event that runs Thursday through Saturday etc

Now here is a high profile guy just out of jail who as soon as he got out is pushing a 17 old hooker scandal tape involving a high profile person and who is also on a personal mission to get back at those that put him in Jail!

He is appearing on every tv station nationwide...Talk about having the SPOTLIGHT ON YOU.

Am I super smart when I say I think you would expect the press to all over Joe for the next few months and will be following every thing he does or attends?

If so either the organisers knew it would happen or someone really needs to get a good event organiser/pr team together? am I correct or dumb and missing the whole situation here?

Spunky 03-30-2008 06:25 PM

Fucked up shit.. :disgust

L-Pink 03-30-2008 06:26 PM

ANY association with Joe is a negative. His problems aren't a freedom of speech issue or something the average person will even attempt to sympathize with ... The guy is in the news for underage girls and tax problems.

With all the whinging I hear adult webmasters do about "crossing over to mainstream" whatever the heck that means, it seems weird for people to be quite this upset about a little paparazzi attention.

Then again, I don't like dodgeball. Didn't like it in grade school and see no reason to inflict it upon myself as an adult.

Phoenix 03-30-2008 06:46 PM

I think people were scared that, if they had any nudity, with the photogs around, then they could get in trouble. Apparently, even though we all look at naked people throughout the workday, dodgeball just was not worth it, unless people got to look at topless chicks.

I have only been in North America just over a year so excuse me for my ignorance.
Is that what I have to do to break into this so called Bro Club?

If I hold a party and give free drinks will I be in the club? and no one will say shit about me and will support everything I do ?

Please Help? if its true I will hold a mega party in Montreal in May :)

People were not scared - Attendees were told by the Phoenix police department (whom were present at the show) they would get in trouble and that the Hotel would lose its liquor license - then the hotel passed out fliers that warned everyone about nudity and public intoxication

The man has a point and you all know Im no fan of ggw.

SteveLightspeed 03-30-2008 07:05 PM

Since it was my event that was cancelled, let me add my comments.

First, let me be clear that I DO NOT officially speak for CCBill or The Phoenix Forum, but we have worked together on the Forum for years and I always try to help them whenever I can.

The cancellation of the Dodgeball War was MY DECISION ALONE. The Forum organizers and the Mission Palms hotel felt they could handle the expected extra media attention that Girl's Gone Wild sponsorship would bring. Security was tighter than ever, and GGW disclosed their promotion and marketing plans before the show started. However, local news crews dropped below anyone's expections of professionalism by attempting to sneak into the hotel, circling the hotel with news helicopters, and staking out the mountain behind the hotel with long range cameras. The tennis courts where the dodgeball war is always played is clearly visible from there.

Pictures from previous year's dodgeball events were located online, and the hotel was warned by the AZ liquor control board about violating their rules regarding alcohol and public nudity. I was notified immediately by concerned hotel managers and show organizers. So out of respect for the Cadwell Family, the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel, and the attendees of the forum, I decided we should send back a loud and clear message that we are not here to cause trouble or break any laws. Cancelling my event seemed the best way to communicate that.

We shared our concerns with the people from GGW, who were very cooperative and apologetic, but also felt they were simply "doing what they do". This was their first time at the Forum, and their only possible mistake was bringing their consumer marketing machine to what is traditionally a very low key business-to-business only event.

I believe I owe GGW an apology. I was asked to make an announcement to the show attendees about the cancellation of the dodgeball war before I had all the facts. I should not have implied that they caused the cancellation of my event.

Now you know all the facts, let's move on to the next drama.

Uhm, I said people were scared they would get in trouble. Do you consider getting arrested and making the host hotel lose its liquor license not trouble? You called it trouble, so I don't get your point.

TheAmericanCannibal 03-30-2008 07:08 PM

The press was not camped out on the hillside to catch Joe Francis people...
The press was there to film me...

They heard that AMERICAN CANNIBAL is back by POPULAR DEMAND on SHOWTIME again this month, and they couldn't be believe an A List actor like myself was going to be in attendance.

http://www.sho.com/site/schedules/pr...991&seriesid=0

I heard there were also looking for MFM and Brad Shaw cause those two are now famous by proxy

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Lighten up everybody- a lot of good will come of this experience for everyone I am sure.

I'd also like to be the first to thank GGW for the invite to the party last night.
While I didn't see GGW filming on the streets, if that is in fact true I would say that this tradeshow is NOT the place for that kind of exhibition.

People have to bear in mind that GGW has a lot of buses and they film during Spring Break everywhere.

While AZ is a hot destination, it's also pretty hot when you consider what SHANESWORLD did in Tempe a few years back with their College Invasion of ASU-

That got a lot of press...both good and bad.
But as a PR guy I have to say this...

ALL PRESS IS INDEED GOOD PRESS.
:Oh crap

While the people at GGW may thrive on media attention, the sponsors of this years dodgeball war (inlcuding myself) do not. I have learned from past experience that the mainstream press likes to exaggerate and vilify everyone in the adult industry. I am not interested in seeing my face on tv.

you can't be serious? do you really think anyone would skip an open bar party based on principles?? get real. As for your reaction here, you represent ggw and with the shit they pulled last week and now this you are further tarnishing the name. A simple "thanks for coming" or even some damage control would have been appropriate but not name calling and bitching. After all, Joe did treat this like it was a public carnival when it clearly was not. I can't believe the organizers couldn't see this coming.

I respect your opinion, however I was mainly talking about those that came up, asked for passes, and then talked crap.. We did not hand out VIP passes to just anyone.. They were given to those who asked for them that we wanted there, or people we felt should be there at the party that were added to the list prior to the show. And that's that... And as for Damage control? Go back up and read the response from Steve, we all already obviously worked it out..

Jace 03-30-2008 07:36 PM

I just wish joe francis had picked AVN Expo or even Internext to pull this shit, why did he decide to use the phoenix forum?

and yes, this is what girls gone wild does, which is why people need to think long and hard about letting them into future events

Jace man, it's all good!!! I see where everyone is coming from, I had my views on this as well.. I am one person in the mix however, I saw positives in it as well, It was something that was submitted and it WAS approved.. That being said.. We tried to make it a success for EVERYONE involved.. Never was there intent to damage anything that has for years been a well hidden and tight knit crowd of attendees.

HAHA, for sure, I lost some cash that was sitting on the pool chair that was wrapped in a towel.. it was sitting there and someone had to be digging for some GGW shirts and spotted the cash and took it.. Next time I'll just have soggy money and keep it in my pocket.

Yes, actually, adult professionals should be capable of skipping free drinks from someone they have no intention of doing business with. This is why the shows have gone downhill in general. Why should GGW or Lightspeed or any program sponsor a party if no one thinks they even have to say "thank you" for the drinks, much less promote the program who bought them.

Look at it this way. If you bought a girl a ton of drinks in a bar, even if she didn't sleep with you, you'd probably expect that she would at least not spend the next week running you down on the internet. Or do you think you should just thank her for drinking your wallet no matter what?
