Kobe is a great player. But Jordan is still the Man!

you're right. and without Pippen, Jordan would be discussed as the greatest player who never won a title.

He had great teams around him too.

Who the fuck is Kobe?

Morgan 04-09-2008 12:59 PM

kobe kicks ass, but jordan will always be mentioned first anytime it comes to the greatest players of the past.

tiger 04-09-2008 01:21 PM

If you are talking about pure skill level Kobe is by far the best.

But if you want to talk about the best player ever there is no comparison and Jordan is the undisputed champ. Jordan's understanding of the game, leadership and decision making is what sets him so far above any other player.

As far as who would I give the ball to, Jordan of course.

All the comments about who had the better team and who would have won what without who are stupid and pointless arguments. It's a team game you make the best you can with what you have and you get judged by your accomplishments.

By my count thats:

Kobe 3, Jordan 6

And for the record I'm a big Lakers fan and a big fan of Kobe as well. Kobe is still raising his game every year and has a good chance to reach Jordans level or higher.

maalox 04-09-2008 01:31 PM

Kobe doesn't have class like jordan did or does,he wines way too much.

Kard63 04-09-2008 02:11 PM

I've seen a few people mention who had the better team and I fail to see why that matters. Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team during his championships.

KBoogie 04-09-2008 02:22 PM

KOBE KOBE KOBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :winkwink::winkwink::winkwink:

Last time I checked he wasn't even tried for that alleged offense. I believe he's only guilty of adultery at this point, which I feel is between him and God and his wife. If I am incorrect, please send me the link. Do we chastise every man that has cheated at this point?

Birdman33 04-09-2008 02:41 PM

Don't over say jordan and that choke artists name in the same sentence thanks

GAMEFINEST 04-09-2008 02:51 PM

kobe had shaq, jordan had luc longley....you pick

CyberAgeGary 04-09-2008 03:02 PM

Give Kobe two or three more years, and then we can definetely see who is more of a complete player. I personally think when all is said and done, and Kobe is no longer playing, His numbers will be much better then Jordans.

Then you will hear about Lebron James, and how he compares to both Kobe and Jordan. It will be interesting.

You are out of your mind.

First of all, Jordan didn't play with these league rules that we have now. If you put Jordan in his prime with the guard friendly no hand check rules, he would have scored 50 a night with ease. His shooting percentage was much higher and he iwas a better rebounder than Kobe. He also played in a league with less teams and less saturation.

And lets not forget that Jordan was one of the best defenders in the league at all times. He could shut down anyone who he was pitted against. He was among the league leaders in steals every year and was even a shot blocking force in his younger days.

There is no comparision between these players. People say Kobe because he is the person they've seen most frequently. Catch a game of Jordan's from 91-92 year and tell me he is not the greatest player ever.

clutch_hicks 04-09-2008 03:15 PM

MJ...why does this even have to be asked???

Ramp 04-09-2008 03:16 PM

Jordan for sure :-)
He's a legend, he's basketball god, ups he was :)

Hank_Heartland 04-09-2008 04:06 PM

Jordan made his whole team better including Scotty...Look at how Scotty played without Jordan, like shit!

Kobe has a hard time making himself look better.

Jordan was about the team...Kobe is about himself.

If the Lakers treated Kobe like the Bulls screwed Jordan...He wouldn't play at all.

Jordan worked harder than anyone in basketball...as in Larry Bird kind of worker...Kobe never worked that hard in his life.

Not even close...Give the ball to Mikey when the game is on the line...Kobe will just blame his teammates if the shot doesn't go through:thumbsup

Just because a group of people share an opinion, it does not make it correct. Look at Hitler's followers. A lot of ignorant people grouped together does not make them collectively smart.

You think Jordan never cheated? LMFAO! Kobe just fucked the wrong bitch imho. :2 cents:

Spunky 04-09-2008 05:21 PM

Anna_Miller 04-09-2008 06:01 PM

Its easy to tell that you know shit about basketball history, just running your pipe like you have knowledge. Scotty Pippen and Horace Grant didnt play for the bulls when Jordan took the Bulls from shit to the playoffs. As a matter of fact Pippen and Grant sucked dog shit for the first THREE years they played with Jordan. Kobe isnt close to Jordan in MANY areas of his game. THere is a huge difference between Pippen and SHaq by the way.

qxm 04-09-2008 06:50 PM

AMDWarrior 04-09-2008 07:49 PM

Kobe is one up in the rape category though.. Jordan Anyday, Anytime and Anywhere over Kobe..

smoke 04-09-2008 10:27 PM

In my opinion it's impossible to compare people from different eras. The game was completely different when Jordan played. It was much, much more physical back then. They didn't have any where near the touch fouls they have in today's game. IMO its easier to manipulate the rules in today's game. Which results in guards being able to dominate easier. In today's game Kobe is impossible to cover because he can play inside out and if you touch him it's a foul. You also don't have the centers and forwards of Jordan's era in today's game.

What made Jordan great was his ability to control the tempo and perform in the clutch. IMO Kobe has the physical attributes to be the greatest of all time but he still has a lot of work to do.

Kobe won early because he had Shaq. Shaq is an amazing athlete, to be that big and agile with soft hands! Unreal, seriously! Kobe would still be searching for his first title if it wasn't for Shaq.

Imo Jordan is still the greatest of all time. Kobe has the chance to take the thrown, but he needs to dominate the next five years. It's to early in Kobe's career to declare him the greatest of all time.

viencarl 04-10-2008 02:52 AM

Jordan hes the best NBA player for me :):):)

Gunni 04-10-2008 03:39 AM

to make a shot at the end of the game probably take Reggie Miller or Larry Bird over those two.
But definitely Jordan over Kobe

Datinggold-Dan 04-10-2008 08:54 AM

That's like saying do you want AK or D-MO.......It's a no contest: Jordan and D-Mo

Yo Garyyyyyyyyyyy..
u can't be serious bro?

no disrespect to kobe's 81 , but if we compare to Jordan's 63 which he got on his first playoff series against Birds & the Celtics, the 63 seems to be harder to get.

and the thread is about who you want to have the last shot.

reminder: Jordan's last shot over Utah's Russel that got the Bulls their 6th title in 8 years

:2 cents:

PS: you a daddy yet?

one game point totals mean jack. Wilt had 100 against a team of 5 foot tall guys and he just stood there and dropped the ball in over them. Which is why Wilt is NOT as a great as Jordan was. Jordan was a mid sized gaurd who dominated every player including a young Shaq. Remember the Jordan Rules? Defensive players were aloud to throw him to the ground on regular occasions while driving and all he got was two free throws. Let that happen to Kobe and watch him cry like a pussy. Kobe likes to imitate jordans every move, except for the important ones, like defensive domination and being one of the top passers in the league at the time.

Yup I am a daddy,

and you want to talk about that shot. Go watch video of it. It is clear that he pushed Byron off.. Very Clear...

Kobe has had many game winning shots... Remember he still has 5-8 years left, and then we can talk and compare... This is premature.
