Yeah the Nuggets don't play good perimeter defense but I think you'll see a lot of zone. There's no doubt it will be tough for Denver but I'm not sold on the Lakers. The best case scenario for you guys is the Spurs in the conference finals. Worst case is the Jazz or Suns. Kobe will be the x factor, if he plays a good team game then LA has a shot. But if for any reason he tries to go off I think they're done.

Worse case scenario the Suns?!?!?! Did you watch the Lakers vs Suns at all this year? Lakers won that series 3-1 (including sNaq playing in the last game for the Suns) LOL. Lakers will EAT the Suns.

Now the Utah Jizz, I do agree they can give the Lakers fit issues, but we're talking about a Jizz team with a bad road record, compare that with the Lakers good road record. Remember, to win in the playoffs, you must win games on the road.

Kobe is a great scorer but far from a leader. Atleast Shaq can win on his own despite being old as dirt. Whats Kobe's excuse?

When Shaq first came to the Suns they made the mistake of trying to make him the focal point of the offense. Now they're running through Amari and leaving Shaq on the weak side to clean up. The Suns are still adjusting but it doesn't matter because you guys don't have an answer for the them in a 7 game series.

Stick a guy like Bowen on Kobe and he's not so much of a factor or roll back to when Detroit fucked up the lakers in the finals using tayshaun prince. Kobe simply can't play when there's a guy in his face all game long staying with him.

Anybody see the Lakers winning anything without Kobe putting up 30+ a night? Things get taken up a few notches come playoff time and the lakers just don't have enough toughness. The only thing that can save the Lakers is the refs going soft because of kobe (and all laker fans) being a whiny bitch.

You obviously haven't watched many Lakers games this year. Commenting off of the 2 minute highlights you see on ESPN probably isn't a good idea. They have been playing and winning games all year without him having to put up big numbers. He has got good numbers but in the flow of the game, not forcing it like he had to in the past couple years.

Nobody gives the Hornets any love...everyone has the Lakers playing Phoenix in the conference finals, nobody here has even mentioned the Hornets. We are the #2 seed for crying out loud.

I will give the Hornets some love. They are probably every bit as good as the Lakers (without Bynum) and Chris Paul has played absolutely amazing. But the playoffs are a whole different story for a young team and not sure how they will respond. Teams usually have to get in the playoffs and lose a couple years before they can take it to the next level. Not saying they can't because they have sustained it all season which I didn't think they would be able to do. The let down they had at the end and the fact that they are a young team is probably why they aren't getting much love.

That said I have Lakers vs Hornets for west Finals. Celtics vs Lakers for the Finals.

When did Shaq win one on his own? I know you're not talking about that title in Miami when Shaq himself admitted to being Robin to D-Wade's Batman.

D-Wade led that team.

Birdman33 04-18-2008 02:57 PM

Suns and Celtics In the finals and shaq getting another ring Like it or not =)

sumvanilla 04-18-2008 03:13 PM

And there you have it. Nuggets have a good offense, but once you get to the playoffs, you need to OUTSCORE your opponent, something that having a half-decent DEFENSE at least affords you, and something that the Nuggets know nothing of.

LAKERS 128, Nuggets 114

notoldschool 04-20-2008 03:35 PM

Gasol is the only reason the Lakers will make it to second round but thats about it.

Yep, and that whole pound for pound the best player argument went out the window when the Hornets drafted Chris Paul. :pimp

Bojangles 04-20-2008 09:44 PM

Depends how many times Kobe shoots the ball, he has a horrible %, and hogs the ball way too much.

Does that guy ever have a good shooting game wow . So sick of watching kobe miss , that is all he does. Another horrible game if anyone on lakers should be mvp it should be gasol or odem wtf does kobe do. Cant even get a dam assist. The nerve of some people comparing him to jordan.

Oh Really?

How confident are you that the lakers will lose in the 2nd round?

You willing to put a little wager on that? It doesn't necessarily have to be money either, unless you prefer it to be.

What do you say?

SCtyger 04-21-2008 04:09 PM

spurs, suns, hornets get to take each other out.. that's pretty good fortune for us Laker fans.

The lakers are still a young team. But they have a legit chance. Of all the teams, I hope it's Lakers vs Spurs for the west.. they match up best with them.

ArkansasDave 04-21-2008 04:27 PM

All the way man, go Lakes!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup

Only because a good shooting day wasnt needed. He in no way carried his team to that victory. Denver is garbage. Wait until they face the Spurs. It will be a slaughter.

What? Denver closed to within 5 and then he scored 19 points in 4.5 minutes to close it.

romeo22 04-24-2008 03:23 PM

I like lakers how they play. kobe rocks

That happens in most NBA games, or any other level of basketball games on a regular basis. Denver has good players but they are no team. They would lose the first round to any of the Western Conferance teams this year. :2 cents:

most games have a player who rolls off 19 points in 4 minutes? Did you actually watch the game last night?

smoke 04-24-2008 03:42 PM

I haven't watched any playoff games yet, is Denver competing or getting blown out?

jmk 04-25-2008 02:07 PM
