Wow! That's a great movie. I do enjoy it.
But why these people always make dog as a monsters? How can anyone be scared of a cute doggie? Personally love doggies....

prob one of the best movies to have come out recently. definitely draws you into the plot and the characters. it puts you into the action and you're attached to the main characters unlike any other movie does.

all the flamers should just go back to watching movies that jump around to spoon feed them everything and explain all the little details along the way.

Excellent post and I 100% agree.

I finally rented and watched it. I was blown away and absolutely loved it.

This country loves to be spoon fucking fed everything and leave nothing to the imagination. Anything decent that comes out that isn't fed to the viewers in everywhich way will always gets bad ratings...which is pretty much a given.

You guys and your pretty little plots and perfect endings.....you guys missed the whole point of the film.

This movie was shot as it was to document the current happenings, NOTHING MORE...
that's all it was meant to be.

Usually the dumbest people are the ones who criticize a movie by simply saying, "the ending sucked., or "it had no plot." Some of the best movies ever "had no plot", or "just ended."

We don't need to know the origins of the monster, because you're right, it's about that moment and what happened -- which makes it cooler not having a back story on the monster.

Full Metal jacket = no apparent A to B plot, no wrap up ending, and no explanation of the Vietnam war. Most people think it's pretty good.

Not trying to put Cloverfield in the same league as FMJ.

Hmm saw Cloverfield last weekend and I have to say we really enjoyed it. No it's not an oscar winner by any means, but it's very entertaining and loads better than a lot of other movies I've seen this year.

I had taken it that whatever fell from space is what caused it to rise up out of the ocean....if you watch the Coney Island snippet, you can see something fall from the sky in the background...not sure if it was what unleashed the monster or was the monster's vessel...

What i really liked about this movie...it became a movie you talked about after watching...isn't that some of the fun of movies? As a movie geek who's seen way more movies than the average moviegoer, I always like movies you can discuss afterwards...even if it's arguing whether the movie rocked or sucked ass...

Kudles 04-25-2008 01:39 PM

I haven't seen it yet.

the object was a satellite owned by the japanese company that the main character was getting ready to relocate to: slusho.

the satellite may have woken up the creature from the depths of the ocean, or it may have been the by-product of an experiment gone wrong, i can't remember which.
