people saying they are doing good or doing bad only means something to that person, someone saying this is their worst month, could be doing way better then someone who says this is their best month. So dont try to figure out and copy what someone who says they are doing great is doing, some sites do so bad, anything is considered great to them :)

Some are just spamming and some are telling the truth. what you have to do is think "Why is he selling when I'm not?". The reasons for some are as obvious as the nose on your face and some need to be thought about.

For 10 years most have produced the same porn, the same way and kept the budgets as low as possible so we can spend as much as possible to market it. Result is clear, 1,000s of sites that have very little to offer the surfer against the next site. The solution for the last 10 years has always been the same, send more traffic to more sites.

Sites that did not convert well enough need more traffic to not convert enough. Go figure the logic of that.

Then the introduction of Tube sites added to the load. So many people are so fast to blame them for their own mistakes. Look at them, most offer a crap scene most of the time. Yes a few exceptions. No quality, no theme, no "exclusivity" and no fucking with the surfer. In most cases it's a 5-6 minute scene. And this is stealing the surfers from sites trying to sell a 30 day recurring membership to a site the surfer feels a free Tube site is better.

Please give me a break, the day the trash can stops people eating in restaurants is the day these people are right. Unless the restaurant serves you out of the trash can and charges for it.

Stop and think to yourself the number of sites that have opened in the last two years that were different from the rest. There is the reason for most that sales are down.

No doubt dude, I'm in mainstream and it's the same shit. I've been doing something online for 10 years now, while my sales are higher than a couple of years ago it is due to overall growth. This is an absolute horrible time online and it's only going to get worse as the recession kicks in. If I didn't have so many foreign customers ($100 = $5 to them lol) I would be really pissed. Americans are going broke and they are cutting back on spending for fact.

This is very funny. This is the first comparison I heard between tube sites and trash cans. Many pornographers are focused on producing quanitity at cheap prices. If they focused on quality, they could attract more elite wealthly porn consumers.

In hard economic times, selling to the average porn surfer will be difficult. I prefer to only sell to rich consumers at high prices. There are not so many rich consumers but they can be very loyal and they rarely spend their time uploading to tube sites. I find it is much more pleasant to sell to a small number of rich elite than to the poor masses.

Yeah, April wasn't that great for sales, I'm not sure what happend there. The first 3 months were good, then April came and things shit out.

i'm averaging about the same as the previous couple months, not doing bad (not super spectacular, but not bad)...

i suppose food and gas prices might have an impact in the future but i haven't seen any significant drop in sales yet..

Year over year increases every year since I've began dablling in this industry.... it's kinda fun to be honest :) The kids like to look at "Oh noes my sales are down since yesterday!" - I prefer to look at year over year results and compare, and well... no problems looking at April 2007 vs April 2008. In all business there is fluctuations - look at a monthly trend analysis instead of worrying about your beer money every weekend and you'll be fine :)
