i don't understand what they're going to do with these templates - isn't the whole idea behind RSS so that webmasters can use the feeds and work them into their own website's design - what's the purpose of these designs being submitted to the contest?

Yes, you can work them into your own websites design, or start from scratch and build out your own camsite. Either way, the purpose is to show people how quick and easy it is to implement these feeds into one's own design

We're really hoping to see some UNIQUE designs, not just changes to our CSS .. we just provided those samples as a quick guide but we were hoping some real creativity in RSS feed utilization could be displayed

You should extend this again - it's a great idea, i dunno how you didnt get more entries.

Let us know if you plan to extend this I have a few mock-ups I did when this first started.

OK, just saw this thread yesterday night, and even though I usually don't do contests, here's my take on it http://fdsign.com/webcams/index.php hope you like :) since it's full tableless XHTML it's very easy to change and modify, I'd love to had some time to add some AJAX stuff, but well, for the time I had guess it's OK
