Nice gesture Tony.

I have been with ThePlanet for almost 5 years and very happy with them. This is just one of those things, and actually the very first problem I've encountered there. Shit happens - I'll be with them after this debacle.

RevSand 06-01-2008 09:36 PM

Very cool to see others coming to help out and give a hand..

payd2purv 06-01-2008 11:36 PM

Looks like Howard Forums is hosted on ThePlanet...

interesting stuff..

split_joel 06-02-2008 03:59 AM

What does it matter what national net's intentions are?

Fact is theplanet and ev1 are down and people need somewhere to go. NatNet is providing a free service to those who are down.

BTW I wish I worked for theplanet right now LOL i'd be making a killing in overtime.

Best of luck to theplanet and everyone affected by the downtime.

Tat2Jr 06-02-2008 04:21 AM

Fuck. Of course no one on GFY has heard of or believes in a little thing called karma. Nat Net saw a fucked up act of god thing go down with a competitor and tries to provide a service and help some folks when they're down and you guys go and start shit?? What comes around goes around. Nat Net is being really fucking cool here, and only on GFY could people..... oh, never fucking mind.... It won't matter anyway....I'm on GFY. Thumbs up Nat Net. You guys do and always have rocked. This just cemented it.

nikad 06-02-2008 07:15 AM

Very nice of NatNet :)

your boss must be so PROUD of you right now! :1orglaugh

undersoul 06-02-2008 08:07 AM

it would have been more respectful not to create a post on a competitors misfortune/troubles. they have enough to deal with right now. and as you said it can happen to you or any host. just think in the end it comes off in bad taste. :2 cents:

Joel seems slow. I think he was hired from the "special people" program. If you've seen the guy you'd know exactly what I mean.

Dirty F 06-02-2008 09:26 AM

Anyway Tony or whoever you are, your post is just as sickening. What a fucking bullshit story. The bullshit almost dripped out of my screen. I mean i dont think im gonna read bigger bs today on gfy. And that means something.
Brb, im gonna throw up to get that sickening feeling out of my system.

For gods sake next just say "hey, we want you as a customer now they are down" and skip all the horseshit.

Once their service is restored you will be expected to move your hosting back to your original host. We WILL NOT accept you as a customer because we do not want this to be misconstrued as an attempt to make a profit

We do hope that they are able to restore their service before tomorrow but if not, we want to be able to offer our services free of charge to people who are still affected.

s3xnetwork 06-02-2008 10:11 AM

I'll host you at my datacenter too, and I will charge you and keep you as a customer.

Pnk XXX 06-02-2008 10:34 AM

FUCK THE PLANET

bunch of fucking scumbags. im glad this happened to them!

V_RocKs 06-02-2008 12:17 PM

Happy summer time.

Dirty F 06-02-2008 01:19 PM

I really dont want to bump this but i just have to say one more time what a fucking bullshit that first post is. Im really amazed by it and that people actually dare to make a post like that while everyone knows better. I mean who are you fooling?

Dailydiapers 06-02-2008 01:25 PM

Shoot, I'd only take an offer like that if you WERE trying to get my business. Take the chance to show people you are better, and match or beat specs and prices...

pixelwizz 06-02-2008 02:25 PM

bump for vaulturenet

s3xnetwork 06-02-2008 03:13 PM

I have about 800 servers and a couple /20's - when can I get started?

rowan 06-02-2008 04:02 PM

I'll leave the karma thing alone, but one thing I don't understand... your 60 day "no customer" limit forces people to move their site(s) twice in a short period of time, perhaps even 3 times if they decide they want to shift back to you after the 60 days has expired. Isn't that kinda making things a little difficult? If I was in that position I'd consider just moving outright.

Yeah, it would be much better to just leave your sites down until theplanet gets things fixed than it would be to move twice in a short period of time.

The first move is a choice, the second isn't. What happens if a customer decides they want to stay with natnet? Sorry, you gotta go away, come back in 60 days. :helpme

Dirty F 06-03-2008 10:34 AM

Looks like theyre trying to let this thread die because they realized how fucked up it is.

Dirty F 06-04-2008 12:50 PM

Yup, nowhere to be found. They just hope nobody bumps it anymore.
