How many folks in that thread, rather than descending to rabble rousing and hate mongering as a way to deal with the issue, actually picked up the phone or hit up VS to discuss the issue personally and professionally? Who took the time to try and figure out what was not being brought to the boards in order to truly figure out what the deal was and the reasons behind decisions?
In my experience, after being in the Acacia suit with VS for years, which btw VS and Homegrown were the first two companies that came together to form a defense group, I have only know VS to be one of the most ethical and upstanding companies around. While I may not have agreed with their decision on first glance, I took the time to hear them out and realize there was way more to the problem than anything presented on the boards. In the end, regardless of my opinion (which ain't worth :2 cents:), I applaud their decision to review their actions and take the course that they have chosen. At the same time, I respect that they had to make difficult choices. Anyone that actually runs a real business knows that oftentime difficult and sometime unpopular considerations must be made. In the end, both parties are happy with the resolution so what anyone thinks at this point is mute. VS was never "hurting" for biz and truth to tell i seriously doubt any of the affiliates that have been earning cash with them for years even considered dropping them. Feel free to bash me for this opinion, I won't lose any sleep over it. I know at the end of the day that I didn't just join a lynch mob and I stood by my convictions and presented my views off the boards to the folks at VS in a calm and considerate fashion, respectful even in my criticisms. To me, that was the professional way to handle it and I got the same in return. For that reason alone, like it or not - you don't have to agree, but I still trust them with our traffic. |

Its webmaster against sponsor, and i deal with cams 10 years now, and i have never seen such an amateur move as what they did, a bullshit replay on line. I spoke to many cam sponsors who run for years, and they all laughed at the replay VS placed online. This is not a win win situation at all, politic games were used to make this all go away. And when they read it on other boards, they knew they could not do anything else then placing this message. On the other hand, i always knew VS had to give in, who has the longest breath here? A sponsor company, or a organized group of webmasters. |
good stuff brad

You only changed decision and paid up because of all the lost affiliates and things going downwards. This change was not done in regards to solve things with Chrome but only to save yourself when ship started to sink.
I hope people keep staying away from your program for a long time, but reading this thread it sounds like a lot here licks up your lame "excuse" and everything is back to normal. As some already said.. "Too late and selfish". I think this quote sums it up fine. Quote:

That was a good move.

This is a pretty good end result for everyone involved. I have some new-found respect for VS. The initial response to the GFY PR onslaught was rude, arrogant and completely inappropriate. That was almost as bad as suspending the account to begin with. The response was a well-written "fuck you, we can do whatever we want" addressed to everyone who took the time to read it.
I'll reluctantly send traffic to VS again. My advice: Hire a PR person to handle future responses. |

Time spent basking in drama on gfy ~ ( 1 / webmaster earnings )

Second of all the majority of VideoSecrets big clients don't send to VideoSecrets.com I said this from the beginning. VS is a good company. They've been around for a long time and will be around for a long time to come. |
congrats to both parties

Good decision. :thumbsup

this was not an out of the blue error that rarely happens and can easily be forgiven. This was an attempted theft, foiled by the public outcry for simple, logical justice.
stealing from or lying to affiliates is the single worst thing a program can do. pulling your traffic is the single worst thing you can do to them in return. stop defending them for trying to steal an affiliates money. that's what they tried to do and were caught with their hand in Chrome's cookie jar :2 cents: again, this wasn't a random technical error. it was thought out deliberate theft. they were caught and FORCED to return the money. I wonder if this would have happend in a stronger economy. |

Love it.. first they take the screw the affiliate approach.
Then it's the get the post deleted approach.. Finally after neither works they do what should have been done in the first place.. What was the master card commercial.... "priceless" Now of course they are "stand up guys and a top notch company.. :1orglaugh |
Very smart move

So it took you 10 pages of people saying they will pull their links to pay this guy out. Fucking scumbag piece of shit. And everyone who suddenly say "well done bro's" can suck my nutballs too. Its clear they are fucking scumbags and simply wanted to keep that guys money. Now that they found out theyre losing way more from the pulled links they suddenly play the good guys. Shit makes me sick.

Look how everyone goes good move guys.
Just one week ago they pulled the nastiest shit you can pull on an affiliate and now under pressure because of money loss they simply have no other choice than to pay the guy and its all good again. Everybody put your links back up. Truly fucking amazing how this industry works. Really amazing. This is the reason i only troll around on gfy because you are all fucking morons. Each and everyone of you. Its sad to see. I almost feel sorry for most people here. |
Glad Chrome got paid, but I'm still not impressed with VS. They showed their true colors in regards to their affiliates and this is just a move to save ass.

"Stand up guys" don't have to be forced to do the right thing. A thief that returns something he was caught stealing is still a thief.

and thats how you kill a drama lama, with a fucking RPG.
Right on guys, you definitely did the right thing....... |

This reminds me of the first Chris Rock special.
"******'s always take credit for something they're supposed to do." "I take care of my kids" "All of our affiliates will get paid for life when they are promoting Lifetime Revshare" :1orglaugh:1orglaugh Good Times. |
