but ill say this

Im happy the guy is getting his lifetime payment back but still leaves a supperr bad taste in my mouth in regards to how they run things

if chrome just took the beating this could of happend to tons of other people

yys 06-20-2008 10:27 AM

This thread is fucking hilarious. People actually complimenting VS for returning someone's money that they thought they could get away with stealing. It says a lot about the ethics of the people doing the back patting. I wouldn't have thought that some of the names in this thread could be equated to the scum that infests the adult side of online marketing but I guess you learn something new everyday. :2 cents:

Should make for great comedic fodder though when some of them come on here in the future complaining about getting ripped off; everyone can just laugh at them as karma's a bitch. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Why did GFY delete the original thread?

Who's to say that others haven't? VS could have avoided this whole mess by simply ending the rebills in their stats ; chrome would have been none the wiser. Whats stopping them from doing that in the future? Their word? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

If they were caught stealing in classic stealth shaving fashion that would of have really been the end of VS. Lets give them credit for not being that shady.

They made a bad decision that was unfair to an affiliate and it bit them in the ass.

Now watch, the whale that chrome has referred to VS will get hit by a truck and thus ending the rebills and thus raising suspicion. :1orglaugh

If they did that though then certain people wouldn't get their performance bonus for increasing the companies revenue/profit; well you get the idea.

Sorry we don't treat our businesses like high school. I have been in this too long to burn bridges with companies I work with.

Taking the time to compliment someone because they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and then decided to put the cookie back sounds pretty high schoolish . Kind of like when some kid continually compliments the cool clique at high school in the hopes that they'll let him hang out with them; in your case you're looking for more business.

That would have involved saying something negative about them. Saying nothing wouldn't have burned any bridges.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post my update with everything that has taken place recently. Excellent news! Video Secrets contacted me and we've completely resolved all issues 100% and my account is being paid in full up to date and my account is being placed back into the active status where I will continue to earn commissions on all of my referrals for life!

I just wanted to thank the community for coming together and supporting a fellow webmaster like everyone here did. I would also like to recognize and thank Video Secrets for working with me to resolve this matter. Video Secrets has always been an excellent company to work with and I would absolutely now recommend anyone and everyone to continue working with them or start working with them if you are not already. As everyone witnessed here....their program performs exceptionally well. I've personally made a lot of money with them and their client retention is second to none (which is a must from an affiliates stand point for lifetime revshare) and I'm excited to continue earning with them for the lifetime of my referrals.

We definitely hit a speed bump in working together, but from day one as everyone here knows....I never wished negativity upon Video Secrets. I simply wanted help in resolving our issues and that's what I got. I personally want to request that all of the negativity towards Video Secrets and its employees stops for good. I hope everyone will restore complete respect and trust for Video Secrets for stepping up to the plate and putting our differences aside and closing this issue in a positive manner.

Again, thank you to everyone here for your continued support and lets please welcome back Video Secrets as the first class, stand up company that you can count on.

Many of you disagreed with our policy and made your opinions quite clear. While we will continue to hope that sending an affiliate thousands of dollars a month warrants continued promotion we have decided to amend our Terms & Conditions in favor of a LIFETIME PAYOUT.

The affiliate in question will receive any and all monies that were withheld for the 7 months his account was in suspension. In addition, he will continue to receive his commissions on a monthly basis as long as the customer he referred continues to make purchases; regardless of whether he sends another click.

We have posted an amendment to our Terms & Conditions clearly stating that we will not suspend an account for lack of promotional activity.

(Section 6.4)

It has been said that decisions are always correct when you make them, but they can stop being correct soon thereafter. In this case it?s clear that what is in the best interest of Video Secrets, our thousands of performers and our affiliates is a policy which goes out of its way to pay affiliates for life.

We hope that those of you who made some very out of line personal attacks in the other threads will think twice before doing that again. There are always two sides to every controversy and while the wheels of progress sometimes move slowly we feel they have stopped on a positive outcome for all.

Back to Business. :thumbsup

I do not think it is necessary to keep face stomping VS at this point. THey revised there TOS, they discussed the problem with Chrome and reinstated Chrome.

I really do not think it is necessary to continue to berat VS

VS got the balls to change themselves over this matter rather than have pride over come them. It was a mature thing to do and most importantly manned up to fixing the error in front of everyone here.

Many of you goto admit 9 times out of 10 no one mans up in this business and admits mistakes, nor puts an effort to correct a problem, they usually run off to the sunset with a handful of money doing flip off signs the whole way.

VS has been here since a little after I started in this business and the whole time they been playing the field they have done outstanding business, they retain and entertain audiences that keep recurring.

You can use Chromes case in this as an example. The guy sent a client to them many many many years ago and he still collects money. I can not think of many programs doing that for webmasters as most companies are here and gone in this business within 5 years.

I applaud VS for changing things around even if it was a bad bad call they still changed to fix the situation.

If you think they bowed just because of board pressure think again. I thought it was the beginning of an exit strategy for VS. The termination of Chrome was significant for more reasons than just Chrome alone. It signified a possible exit plan which bothered me more. I figured Chrome was to be the first of many.

Because in my conspiracy Not only chrome would have been cut but many others as VS would attempt to shore up income before closing shop. Obviosuly VS is not going that route by reinstating Chrome.

So think about it.

tranza 06-20-2008 12:58 PM

Thanks for share this new!

" I applaud VS for changing things around even if it was a bad bad call they still changed to fix the situation. "

AlienQ, I agree with all your comments , VS turned a very bad situation back in the right direction and Chrome seems happy.
But, your art work was still pretty kick ass. :thumbsup

It won't change much anyways, VS since last week is the last compagny I'd use for cams after the other zango using scumbags... The fact that they corrected the problem after public flaming don't change that there is something wrong with their ethics.

The decline begins on the 11th, the same day the original thread was posted.

And here some people said that GFY had no power.

fris 06-20-2008 07:40 PM

they did do what was right, but it took a thread getting 20,000 views, and 100's of webmasters pulling links, which shouldnt have happened.

but good for everyone involved.

Exactly, and if people continue doing business with them now it is sending a message to all sponsors that they always have a 'get out of jail free' card when they are caught stealing from affiliates. :2 cents:

They got their balls squeezed hard by a lot of united webmasters, that's what they got.
They should have solved the problem with Chrome on first reply and not first after 8 days of bad PR and censorship by their cocksucking bro's. That would have been mature.

Instead they came up with a stupid arrogant "money for nothing" approach.

This is a rare feat for us affiliates. Way to go guys. You won't see this happen in a long time. We always seem to lose nowadays. This was quite a miracle to read about. Amazing that so many big time affiliates pulled their links like that...
