My for fathers fought in wars and died for this country. I pay taxes like all of my family before me have, to live in an English country. I have no problem with muslims but I have a problem when muslims come into our country and tell our goverment how to run our country because of thier relgion and I would be exactly the same be it somebody from Poland or the USA or anybody else. If anbody goes to any country and becomes a citizen and ends up having a family they should abide by that countrys laws, traditions and relgions. I would not dream of going to settle in a foreign country and say things like "It is against my relgion to show your ass" so please stop it. So dont fucking tell me to leave my own country you idiot

it seems to me that 'British' traditions go back considerably further than a mere 2 or 3 generations. I don't understand why it seems difficult for some people to realize that a country's inhabitants would seek to preserve their cultural identity, especially when it's been developed over 1000's of years and is enshrined in everything from their architecture to their folklore to their traditional government and nearly every other aspect of their life.

whether another group comes marching in with weaponry first and then seeks to change things or slips in via lax immigration laws and then seeks to change things, their goal is the same - to forever alter the way of life of the existing inhabitants. if the inhabitants value their way of life then they'll take steps to deter events such as that from happening.

so when is the next big religious war...this is all leading up to it

My question now is, are those shopkeepers themselves Muslim, or are they Brit business owners who are afraid to put up the sign for fear that the outraged muslims will throw rocks through their windows and harrass their families etc.

People change, countries change. People change countries. In Canada we've seen many waves of immigration from different parts of the world throughout history, and every one of them has changed things here.

Laws are made for the times, and also must change as society progresses. Why should they not have the same rights to complain and change the laws as they see fit? You have the same rights!! Are there no laws you disagree with? Do you just blindly follow them, even when you disagree with them?

Never forget what a small window of time you live in. The world and land we call "ours" is just a facade. We are here for a small time, and then we pass on. marriages were arranged as methods to keep peace and forge alliances between the ruling parties of many countries throughout europe. countries did not go to war with one another over mere personal vanities, at least not very often. if a truce of some type was arranged and tributes were to be paid, but were then revoked, it was not merely some trite marital problem as you are implying, it was a problem of a treaty being broken with real international consequences unrelated to the couple involved in the marriage.

the 'religious wars' you speak of that took place throughout europe had little to do with modern day concepts of religion as a sunday morning social event so much as they did a significant controlling factor in society more equivalent to what we now equate with modern government. we have since separated religion from government; much of the muslim world has not made that advance.

as to the "2000 years of monarchy" you mention - their monarchy no longer plays the same role in their government as it once did, and probably to their detriment in events such as this.

their current monarchy can trace it's origins back only 1000 years to the Norman invasion, not 2000; prior to the Norman invasion the island was ruled by many smaller factions, not the current monarchy. at least get your history right if you're going to attempt to mock it.

the problems mentioned are not solely those of expected violence, they are of preserving one's land and culture. unlike those of us in North America, residents of that isle have a very long ancestral claim to the land, relinquished only once in the last one thousand years, and only then to a culture at least somewhat similar to their own which sought to integrate themselves with the existing inhabitants. your claim that they don't somehow have a right to the land which their ancestors have been brought into this world on for countless generations, and that they are living in but a small window of time where the owners of the land will change cultures and heritages many times simply has no basis in historical fact in their case. They are English, not Americans or Canadians.

Those who will decide the fate of England are those who live there now. They can accept defeat or do what is necessary to stem the tide; this same type of event has occurred many times throughout much of europe and every time the native europeans have found success. There is nothing preventing modern day Brits from enjoying that same success but themselves.

That article does not in any way say the story is fake. The complaint was filed as claimed in the other article. This article only mentions that many Muslims in Dundee are not supporting the complaint. This article verifies what the previous article said in the first few paragraphs.

I know that countrys go through change and cannot stay "stagnent" But saying that how would you feel if you had laws, traditions and religions, in your country being turned on there head because of one religious group. If I said I did not like a picture posted on a bill board with a horse on it because it goes against my relgion I would be told to go and take a run and jump. I dont think if I went to Russia, Spain or Iran and became a citizen then proceded to try and change thier traditions because they go against my own religion, I would get very far, infact in some countrys I would most prob be hung. I do not hate muslims but I do hate relgious fanatics that tell me what I can and cant see in my own country. If you were a muslim in a muslim prodominent country and you had some other religious citizens who were not native to the country in the first place telling you what you cant and can do ..would you like it?
