Nice work guys!

Mutt 07-09-2008 07:18 AM

Be very careful what you do Canadians - GST and PST - yes you very well may be held responsible for paying for those for not only Canadian customers but the rest of the world too.

google 'Dawn's Place GST' - and talk to a tax attorney or accountant to get advice

Indeed. I've talked to CCRA agents who advise setting up biz. in the USA for this very reason.

Its stupid they require non canadian customers to pay GST.

SL|M! 07-09-2008 01:29 PM

great news

Socks 07-09-2008 01:34 PM

So how does the dollar conversion work for Canadians who signup for billing in Canada?

Will we still be paid in US dollars?

Very good info, informative post, thank you!

Ahhhhh, the days when a halfway decent looking model could put up some content on a single website and make $350k a year... :)

VeriSexy 07-09-2008 02:20 PM

Correct, we will still payout in USD

thekebie 08-18-2008 09:45 PM

So if I want to handle Master Card and Visa, and not have to pay PST and GST on all of my members, like another 13.5% vig on all my transactions, I should do the Nevada corp route?

CrkMStanz 08-18-2008 11:28 PM

Paul

It is required that I now have your babies

even though it is medically impossible - i WILL make it happen

I swear it

however - if this is a sick twisted joke - I will arrange for an endless stream of midget lepers to hound you for dates until the end of time

no, seriously - I LOVE you :winkwink:

I shall be in touch

For sure. Most sologirl sites couldn't net 10-20k a year

I would have figured this thread would have more views. If it was titled "Yoooooooooo... my ballzzzzzz.... WOOOOOOF" it would have more than 600 views. :disgust

So sad but true.

I don't know how I missed this thread in the summer, but congrats all around! This has been such a hugely long time coming!

The question never was answered: are there tax solutions for the Canadian webmasters? I think I saw a checkbox on one website's join process page "check here if you're canadian" for GST but can't remember where I saw that.

BigRod 01-08-2009 01:20 AM

Looks like 2009 is the year of the Canadian affiliate program!

tranza 01-08-2009 07:06 AM

Nice news!!

You are probably just as lucky as us europeans who have to deal with VAT (no such feature) :(

RyuLion 01-08-2009 03:10 PM

CCBill's actions don't surprise me at all..
..a very smart company..

pornguy 01-08-2009 03:15 PM

Erg, now that would be a handful, too!

WiredGuy 01-08-2009 06:12 PM

I was actually looking for this thread, thanks for bumping it Elli. And I actually had the exact same question as Elli. Will there be some way to identify Canadian buyers, either by geoip or on the form directly where Canadians will be charged GST for their purchase?

With our regional pricing you can choose what to charge Canadian customers, you can also break down our reports to determine country of origin of the transactions as well.
