Ellisa you make some good points but its well known no matter how much they make, sales reps are the lowest rung. In many ways its why they get paid well cause it?s a nasty job that is unappreciated by most in many cases even the guys they make money for.

I personally hate dealing with them and will only talk to people that have been around and actually know the industry and have not jumped ship more then 2 times (never is preferred) in there adult career.

I don't remember who said it but research is a big reason to go. Information that is not discussed on the boards is another.

Most importantly for me its to see our loyal webmasters and make nice with the people we already agreed to do business with. Personally maintaining a relationship after the deal is signed is worth more then listening to the newest pitch by someone who will be gone in a year or 2.

Shows to me is where you put a face to a name and work out more business with the people you already deal with.

It's nice to put a face to a name, but if the show is about business then I get far more business done working, while the show is going on, than I do by going to the shows.

I backed off of shows about 3 years ago, this last phoenix forum was my last Industry show. Unless someone wants to pay me to attend a show :)

I agree. I hate getting spammed at the shows and usually steer clear ofthose hard-working sales reps.

I wouldn't go as far as printing that at the back of my card, but I certainly get annoyed by people who pass out cards in the most meaningless manner. I usually carry 10 cards around me at any given time. Most of them usually end up in the room with me afterwards.

I usually get about the same amount of calls on Monday as the amount of cards I passed out.
