I've said it before... it's funny how the U.K. guys from this forum hate us so much and coddle up to the rag-turds in the Middle East. Still bitter about that Revolutionary War/ War of 1812 thing eh? Maybe you guys are getting brain-washed from all the Muslims that have taken over your country... either way, I laugh. Good entertainment :)

Funny how equally clueless you are. How is fighting a war in iraq or iran going to do anything about the Muslims taking over their country? It does the opposite. How many Iraqi refugee's have flooded into the West as a result of a war launched for Israel in Iraq. This is what the Zionists and Neo-Cons want you to believe, they want to use that bent up white frustration against immigration, against the establishment and use it for the establishment. The fight for the West is at home, in Europe and in the USA, Iran/Iraq/Afghan, etc are Israel's wars.

Exactly. It's threads like these that help me top up my ignore list. :thumbsup

Opps, wrong book Mike, sorry, read all 3 recently. You were right. I meant "The Grand Chessboard" - that's the one in which the quote went something along the lines of, "what's more important, some stirred up muslims or the liberation of central Europe"...the doctrine to which the US govt adhere to.

Threat to the region? How can you be a threat to your own region? :1orglaugh

That pretty much speaks for itself, ragheads, right because the only normal people in this world are white Americans that watch NFL and Nascar. Reality check buddy, America isn't the world, there are different people out there.

campimp 07-25-2008 05:57 AM

is it really true what one dude said that California uses more oil than China?

thats pretty sick if it is the case

the war on iraq was bullshit, from start to finish... we all know that... never liked the idea of it, and never will... but iran i think is slightly different. If they are going to continue to try to flex their muscles with missle tests, and kicking out the UN, then maybe something does need to happen... but it should be up to Israel, not america to do it.

america would be much better off if they cut ties with Israel, but that will never happen

Yeah, that's what I thought.

I don't think Israel is any less of a problem in the M.E. but they have been under attack since the state was formed and in reality they have more right to be there than anyone else. Christians and Jews were there long before Islam was even thought of.

The Arabs sacked Jerusalem 638 years after Christianity was formed. So if anyone has a right to that land it damn sure starts with the Jews well before the Muslims/Arabs.

Israel typically repsonds to threats rather than attacking first. The diffrence is, Iran, Syria and most of the Arabs in the region do everything they can to destablize Israel. Then cry about it when Israel strikes back.

That, or something similar, will then force a western response and that's when the mushroom clouds will start rising :(

This is the problem. There is no room for mistakes here. If they get a nuke, they'll use it. And worse, it's not like they'll be launching a missile that will lead directly back to them. One day we'll wake up and learn that a nuclear bomb has gone off in Israel, or someplace in the US, delivered by hand by terrorists. (The LA airport seems to be one of their favorite targets.)

I don't care if it's right or wrong on our part. I'd rather be wrong now and then be wrong three years from now with all of southern California or NYC is a nuclear waste land.

Maybe you should take a geology class, so you can understand Iran isn't the only country in the region. Especially before you try calling someone else dumb when you clearly don't know the difference between a region and a country.

You do know that the US's little buddy Israel has nukes illegally. Not planning to make, not maybe one day they'll have it, they have the nukes already, illegally.

You also know that there is a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty right, which is an agreement by a bunch of countries in the world that they'll work towards a nuke free world. Guess who is part of that agreement? Iran. Guess who refuses to sign it? Israel.

So go figure, Israel is going to bomb Iran for supposedly trying to make nuclear weapons when they already have the weapons, illegally, and are one of only 4 countries in the entire world who haven't agreed to get rid of them and haven't signed the treaty. (North Korea signed, but withdrew in 2003, the other countries that aren't part of it are India and Pakistan.)

You can thank France for arming Israel with the bomb, as for them possessing it illegally, its not true regardless of what I'm a peanut farmer Carter says. As you stated in the above quote Israel is not part of the NPT, so how can you imply the mechanism of a treaty to an unsigned sovereign nation?

You can't

Iran being a signed member, puts them into a position of breaking the treaty if they are pursuing nuclear weapons. You are trying to make these 2 scenarios one in the same when in fact they are apples an oranges

Ok, so if Iran were to withdraw from the agreement, then them making nukes would be ok? What a fucking dumb thing to say.

And you expect anyone to believe YOU over a former US president? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Thanks for the chuckle!

Buzzy my friend Iran is primarily a threat to the Sunni powers in the region like Saudi Arabia. If Iran goes nuclear then the Saudis will have no choice but to reciprocate (they are already seeking the technology from the US). Syria is also likely to get the technology from the Iranians. Essentially what you will see is a nuclear arms race right in the middle of the most politically unstable region on Earth.

The US will not be within range of Iranian missiles but the Middle East, Russia, Central Asia and Europe will be. This is much more a regional problem then a US problem. If the world is lucky the Israelis will bite the bullet and attack Iran's nuclear sites before Iran has its weapons program fully operational. Otherwise you should hold on for a real bumpy ride as the whole Middle East goes nuclear.

Iran didn't start that nuclear race, Israel did.

Iran has been around a long time. I don't expect them to go anywhere...

We have been around these parts for sub 400 years...

you are one of the people that i respect most on this forum because you are intelligent, but i really do disagree with you here. all the problems started when the state of israel was formed, now do not take that as me saying they do not have a right to exist - of course they do but they started the nuclear arms race and they are the ones that are constantly destabalizing the region. if there is any substantial proof that Iran are building nukes, which at the moment, there isnt, we should put more heavy sanctions on them but war would be a disaster because syria, hamas, hezbollah as well as Iran would be sending rockets down on tel aviv and it could just very well be the end of israel and that is what they have to avoid.

There is no doubt that the existence of Israel is the cause of much instability in the region, but you can hardly expect for the Israelis to throw themselves into the sea for the sake of peace in the middle-east. With neighbors on all sides sworn to its destruction you can be sure that Israel will never give up its nuclear weapons.

Having acknowledged that reality, it will not add to stability for the rest of the countries in the middle-east to go nuclear, and that is what will happen when Iran successfully tests its first nuke. As to your assertion that there is no evidence that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program that is patently false. No one seriously argues whether they are pursuing nuclear weapons, only how long it will take. Iran has openly stated that it believes it has a right to develop nuclear weapons. If I was an Iranian I would likely feel the same way.

There is no doubt, however that Iran going nuclear will lead to a massive militarization of the middle east that is almost certain to end in a catastrophe of almost unimaginable proportions. :(
