As for fake nails... straight men don't even notice the difference between real and fake nails. We don't look at nails. We look at boobs and asses. With those, we usually prefer real, though.

With nails, if we were to give them more than a second of thought per year (which we don't), we would be convinced that anyone who gets fake ones is completely batshit insane. Then again, that's exactly what we think of virtually all women anyway, with their mind-boggling obsession with trends, fashion, accessories, etc.

Why or why do girls get short fake nails? To keep the damn nail polish on. Wearing a dark color nail polish means you either get a polish change every day if you have real nails, or a polish change every week or two with fake.

I think it's normal to get dolled up in all Mac when you go out actually. It's just the nails that are passe.

I have fake nails but I keep the really short. The only reason I get fake nails is because I don't have time to repaint my nails and file them done once a week. When you have fake nails the paint last longer and your nails don't break : )
