Isn't clips.com still a 40/60 split?

What other clips programs are there?

Ryan St. Germain 09-12-2008 04:10 PM

Yes, it's a smaller split on the content side, but if you are sending the kind of converting traffic you talk about, you'll make the 25% webmaster commission in addition to the commission for being a content producer.

DC,

So you use your own affiliate link to boost your smaller split?

Every hit that I send that converts, I get an additional 25%. If I send a hit, and the surfer goes on to your store and buys, I get 25%.

So you get 20% as a studio, and then 25% if YOU sent the click for a total of 45%????

I think Clips is 40% as a studio when someone purchases your video and 25% as an affiliate, making 65% if you send the customer to your own store. Why don't you check the agreement, Barefootsies, especially since your other concern about the VOD is not valid anymore supposedly anyway.

I clicked their link in sig.

They do not mention the split anywhere. I clicked on the "learn more". Again, no mention of the split for studio owner that I could see. If you find it, point it out to me.

I see it mentioned everywhere else for affiliates, webmasters, and VOD.

Odd.
:disgust

Barefootsies 09-12-2008 05:49 PM

Disregard.
Jimmy Gunn found it on a separate program page.
Not the one in sig link(s).

30-40%

Also you may consider yoogirls.com (yes, self advertisement :thumbsup ) - i'll give you a 70/30 split instead of the 60/40 - if you're interested hit me up on ICQ :)

Anyway, i always liked to put the clips on all the clips sites and i'd recommend it too.

Signed up.

Hitting you up BRO. :thumbsup

Heard back from Neil this evening.

They ADDED yet another processor. Banners down during the approval process. Still using multiples.

SO.... all is good. Just formalities.

That makes sense, as it's impossible for them to police all the banners for objectionable content, to just remove them for the approval process.

Agreed.

In the meantime, checked out some other DC alternatives with Gunn. :thumbsup

Barefootsies 09-12-2008 10:28 PM

Banners returned.
Back to business.

FYI - The banners and stuff that were temporarily off...are back on!
At least mine are...all back to normal...

AND in the last 2 hours, I've made an "average days" worth of sales..so something's going strong here!

that's about what I figured, since my last receipt was at 12:49. I know the store admin's went down first, because when I checked, I was able to access the front page, then nothing. Hopefully it's got something to do with their adding new billing.

ninavain 09-14-2008 03:30 PM

wow still down, the whole site:Oh crap

Ryan St. Germain 09-14-2008 03:43 PM

I can't log in via ftp either, so it's probably a server issue.

I'm still getting database errors from C4S... dunno what's going on here. I am reporting the errors as the pages say to do... :(

fitzmulti 09-14-2008 07:43 PM

About 2/3 of my stores are back up as of this writing. Some are showing db errors...I am sure that is indicative of the database getting rebuilt...

Lucky you. None of mine are back. I'm sure you are right though, about the database.

Barefootsies 09-14-2008 08:03 PM

I talked to Neil.

He said a Tropical Storm hit OH where their servers are based. Knocking out the power.

Obviously if everything was 'peachy' at the time I had read your contract, and the percentages were mutually beneficial. Then I would have signed up. I am not going to leave money on the table for a fair offer any more than the next guy. It's common fucking sense.

Hey, I'm really not trying to start an argument. I just want everyone to understand how our contract works. A copy of which can be found here: http://www.clips.com/docs/clipscontract.pdf

Now, just to clear up any confusion. Clips.com webmaster payouts = 20%. Clips.com provider payouts = 40%. Any traffic that you bring to clips.com, your stores or any others, that converts will payout 20%. If that traffic also bounces over to the vod site, and also converts, the payout is 25%.

Dan, so it stands to reason that if a studio who also has sites sends a click and that person purchases a video owned by your own studio, you will in effect end up getting 60% of the purchase price, right? 40% as a studio and 20% on top of that (in a separate check I imagine) as a webmaster, right?

bump for Jimmy Gunn

danclips 09-15-2008 05:47 PM

Jim, That is 100% correct. We have actually started to combine the payments on one check though. Everything is itemized on the stub. It doesn't make sense to send out separate payments for all of the programs that we have.

If we were to payout 60%, plus an additional 20% through the affiliate program..... Well, you do the math. Our savviest providers know how to use our program to it's full potential. By giving you the ability to send your targeted traffic, your potential to earn is limitless.

danclips 09-15-2008 05:49 PM

Also, that person that came to your clips.com store through your link will remain your affiliate for a minimum of 90 days. As long as they keep coming back to the site with in 90 days, they will remain yours. And anything they purchase on clips.com will earn you 20%.

Okay Dan, I like what I am hearing. I am going to read over the contract and then contact you about a white label. I have hundreds of clips to sell.

Just one question though, if they sign up from my link and then make a purchase on day one, and more purchases after that up until ninety days, then they make another purchase on the ninety-first day the affiliate doesn't earn any more on the purchases after ninety days, right?

danclips 09-16-2008 04:42 AM

NO. as long as they keep purchasing, that 90 days keeps extending. If they don't come back for 91 days, they go back into the pool.

Make sure you get them their contract in 2 mother fucking days.

I had signed up with them, among others. I uploaded some clips on Sat night when this thread was going on. Launched, or opened, YooGirls and clips.com stores. Sunday I get e-mail store is open on clips.com. Made a sale or two. Monday night I get an e-mail saying that it's disabled because they have not received the contract.

Apparently I was supposed to send it by pony express. There was no fax number on their site, contract, or admin. So I threw it in the mail. Fucking ridiculous.

Needless to say I just told them to delete store, and content. If they are this ridiculous coming out of the gate, I can only image what will happen during payment and support.

I don't think it's unreasonable to be asked to snail mail a contract in. Should only take a few days to do that. What's your hurry, you waited so long already?
