Depends on how good / bad Obama does...if he turns out to be a great President they'll throw anyone into the race.

If Obama sucks, which could be the case (I wonder if Hillary would try to get the nomination no matter what in 2012), I can see them going with Mitt Romney Or Rudy Giuliani. Rudy Giuliani's hatchet job of the Dems at the RNC definitely gave him some brownie points for a future run.

I think Palin will be a non-factor if she doesn't win now with McCain...her star status will fade fast.

nico-t 09-19-2008 10:18 AM

palin is even worse than mccain with her god gibberish, shes even worse than bush... if mccain and palin win this election the us and the rest of the world is fucked.

Children born to soldiers on US military bases are US citizens. The status of his citizenship isnt questionable at all.

Yes. If you think someone could go through the vetting process that running for president and campaigning on the national level for 2 years entails and it not come to light that they arent even a US citizen, you need to take off the tin foil hat.

KillerK 10-20-2008 12:36 PM

I seem to remember posts about how we were going to have a Draft if Bush won and we didn't have that. Nothing changed except the financial meltdown but this appears to be a way for the big banks to get bigger and have us help pay for it.

robfantasy 10-20-2008 12:40 PM

Really when W a republican pushed to socialize the financial sector. So when big business gets a huge tax break or subciteries, thats ok but to help the hard working family is socialism thats too funny.
Also during W his tax cuts made the rich richer and employment went down and wages dropped. This trickle down bullshit doesnt work.

This is pointless. How does a change to include the children of parents STATIONED overseas as citizens compare to someone like the Governator?

LOL, so you think that by taking money from hard working business owners who invest risk and hard work into making a successful business we should penalize them and take their money and redistribute to the guy who settles for paycheck to paycheck because he didnt want to work hard in the beginning.

business owners will just hire less people or outsource, very simple, u think its bad now, just wait and see whats coming.

the tax increase for people making 250k-600k a year is THREE PERCENT.

Tell me how many small businesses are making over 600k a year.

Stop getting all your information from Fox news.

Also...Obamas plan calls for tax breaks for people that DONT outsource the jobs. As it stands now, you get tax breaks whether you keep jobs in the US or send them overseas. He wants to put a stop to that.

You forget to note one major point. The Bush Tax cuts while they lowered the actual % rates paid, they dramatically increased TOTAL tax revenue and also increased the % of total tax paid by the rich. So under BUSH - the RICH actually paid MORE in total tax dollars.

Not true. There are far more businesses in the < $600k annual profit range than > $600k.

Granted, for the ones that are in that bracket...the sky is the limit. However, more people will be helped by Obamas tax proposals than will be hurt by them.

Don't take it as a slight to your ego but forgive me if I remain unconvinced. Like I said before, if enough repubs want him to run they will find a way. The birth circumstances of existing candidates are already questionable enough that Arnold having a shot wouldn't be all that much more of a stretch (see posts already in this thread about this).

yes, all left wing media outlets have confirmed that anyone disagreeing w/ obama is racist or out of touch with reality..

im not saying anyone who disagrees w/ my viewpoints is ignorant and naive, because you dont know my viewpoints, and my viewpoints arent necessarily mccains.

i am saying that the obamas campaign is targeted to appeal to the ignorant, naive, uneducated and desperate.

i guess it's a common confusion - the number of small businesses that make more than $250k PROFIT per year - assuming that the owner also already has paid himself an income - is pretty low.
