Yup. BareFootsies is a great guy. Sad people Like PussyServer and Dark Jedi have to say shit like that. Good point though I will take this all to a new thread if he continues. Sorry folks. :Oh crap

Dixie, and Zing...

Please do not keep taking the troll bait.

There is nothing you can say, most of us actually in the business, do not already know about pussyserver. There is no need to be lowered to his level.

A terrible thing happened to my friend, and business partner.

I, like many on here, am stuck behind a computer all day. I talk with a lot of friends in this industry, and share both good and bad times with them. Whether joking on the board, or shooting the shit on ICQ.

GFY was an outlet for me while waiting on news, and sharing my emotion with friends from this business who might be able to relate. People who actually are full time online business people can understand.

Regardless, there is no need to take this thread and turn it into a pissing war with some board piss ant. If nothing else, this at least for me, gives you a moment of pause on mortality.

Sorry hun, we care about you and don't like seeing someone kicked when they are down. This thread has lost what it was originally about due to unnecessary comments by trolls and us calling them out. I apologize for that :( I hope things brighten up there and everything goes ok. I'll try to ignore people ;) :upsidedow

Thanks friend.

So far not looking good. Only family allowed to see him, and he's unconscious.

They are investigating more on the accident, and I can't believe people took all these pictures and submitted them. Kinda crazy. I guess the thought would never occur to me in a similar situation.

4 injured in boat explosion

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Four people are recovering from a boat explosion in South Haven Monday morning.

It happened just before 2:00 Sunday afternoon on the Black River.

The fire quickly spread to several nearby boats, causing tens of thousands of dollars of damage.

Firefighters say a man, woman and child were on the boat when it exploded. Witnesses say they suffered serious burns.

Another man who was standing nearby also got hurt and went to the hospital with injuries.

One witness says the explosion was so strong the roof of the boat flew off and almost hit him. "All I heard was a loud noise and I saw the roof of the boat flying towards me and so I ran this way and something hit me in the back, shoved me towards my boat," said Steve Eberhard.

Several witnesses say the boat's owner was refueling when the explosion happened.

Firefighters aren't saying yet if that is what caused it, but they did say that refueling the boat where it was located is illegal.

Yes indeed.

I went to the hospital today. Met his parents (only knew sister) who were in from WI.

The latest news is he will live, and eventually recover. They are having skin graffs (sp?) done this week. He is still unconscious, and it will take years to get back to some relevance of normal.

But he will be alive...

theharvman 10-07-2008 11:35 AM

Very sorry, best wishes man!

mrwilson 10-07-2008 11:44 AM

Zuzana Designs 10-07-2008 02:48 PM

I will keep you and them in my prayers .. I hope they are doing better :(

donnylong 10-07-2008 03:06 PM

sorry to hear about this and hope everyone gets better soon.

Being an ex fireman and also owning a boat repair business in the Florida keys for 7 years I can tell you a lot about boats. I have refueled thousands of boats and rebuilt from bottom up hundreds. Refueling the boat may or may not have caused the explosion and here is why.

Many people leave their boats running while they refuel especially the bigger boats and that is unlikly to cause this but can if the filler tubes that take the gas from the filler to the tank are leaking.

When refueling, many times people will start their boat and get the engines warm before refueling is finished and whenever you start a inboard or inboard outboard engine you should always turn on the electric blower fans that remove the gas fumes from the engine compartment and many people forget to do this and even more of the time they just don't work right. There are so many things that can go wrong and do go wrong with boats all the time and that's why the boating repair industry makes so much money. I was in the keys last week and those guys are getting up to 150 an hour. This was most likely not user error and I hope that the owner knows that. :2 cents:

Calico Jack 10-07-2008 04:36 PM

The injuries sound horrific, but he'll live, so there's a positive. I wish him, his family and friends all the best during this very trying time.
