I owe Stuart alot of monies for his original sponsor list site. It really got me off to the races when i started doing affiliate managements a long time ago.

Blah blah solid guy blah blah good move blah blah ! Im joking

With th2 whole ATK cash team behind him, Stuarts strong programming skills and With Gunner this is great news for affiliates.

Congrats, what were you doing for ATK before beeing an aff manager ?

Many things for the cash program, sites and servers... all technical stuff, but the biggest project was writing the new affiliate software that the program is currently using (as in, I programmed it entirely myself).
It's been built with the future in mind, as I get the tools filled and processes in place, this program will begin offering tools and features that have yet to be seen in this industry.

Davey,

StuartD has been with ATK for quite a while. I'm not sure of the numbers, but I would guess to venture at least 3 years?

Congrats Stu

I thought programmer was above affiliate manager
it seems to be the other way around.

Same here, but i presume Stuart took upon the affliate manager role along with programming, so he's doing 2 things now, which is an improvement and i'd consider it moving up in the company.

Plus, i'm actually glad someone took a programmer as an affiliate manager as Stuart will be able to implement what affiliates need alot more easilly, and tell them what's feasable, whats' not, and hear directly from affiliates what they want (regarding tools etc). Especially since he built the new atkcash backend.

EDIT:
Someone please remove the auth prompt from maxcash banner/picture whatever.

Exactly. An affiliate manager usually just turns to the programmer to ask for tools to be built and fixed and changed. The programmer answers to the managers of the company doing what they wish/need.

As the affiliate manager and programmer, I have a unique position of being able to build and do what I want. This means added flexibility not just for myself but for our affiliates as well. If an affiliate comes to me with an idea to change the very core of the entire program that would benefit everyone, I can do it!

I've spent a lot of time in this industry and have said a lot of times "why don't programs do this" and "it would be so much better if this worked like this" and as both the manager and the programmer, I am lucky enough to make these things happen.

Also as affiliate manager, I get to work with the designers, 3rd party services and programs and of course, the affiliates. This gives me a lot more responsibility as well as added control as I can work more closely with them to ensure our program looks and behaves exactly how I want it to.

How many times have you all promoted a program and wished you could talk directly to the people who actually make things happen and change immediately, rather than going through someone who will have to ask their programmers if it's possible? Or had requests that you didn't even bother asking because you knew the affiliate manager wouldn't give you an answer anyway?

Whether a step up or not, this puts me as programmer and you as the affiliate in a unique position.. an advantage.

MaDalton 10-07-2008 05:29 AM

congrats, stuart! :)

ro8in 10-07-2008 05:34 AM

"promoted" from programmer to affiliate manager?

Does that mean his programming skills sucked?

Veevee 10-07-2008 05:38 AM

Congratulations!!!

Yes, I wrote the atkcash back end and am still doing programming so that means I suck.
Thank you for clarifying that.

lazzlo 10-07-2008 05:54 AM

Certainly, can you email me (stuart @ atkcash.com) or icq me (563-6347) with your username/id and I'll get you hooked up.

L0stMind 10-07-2008 09:42 AM

Err is everything thinking of Affiliate Rep as opposed to Affiliate Manager? Since when is a Programmer higher on the totem pole then Manager? Maybe when he has a title like CTO or something. hmmm

Pete-KT 10-07-2008 09:54 AM

Congrats Stu, glad to hear your doing well
