Thanks for the kind compliment.

Truth be told - I grabbed that shot while waiting for a couple of gals on horseback to ride by...hoping to get them in silhouette with the colorful trees as a backdrop.

But they veered off a fork in the trail and went up on a ridge. I got a few shots of them riding later on...but not against the background I wanted. :(

How do you get such great color saturation in bright sunlight?

When I shoot fall scenes outdoors the colors look washed out.

There's no substitute for getting to know your camera and learning how to post-edit your photos to get the most out of an image.

There's simply too many variables involved to give you a superficial quick-fix to your question. Basically, its a combination of knowing what to do with the camera, and then understanding how to tweak the image in the photo editor.

I would suggest taking a course on photography (if you haven't already)...but that's only the beginning. Your emphasis should be on spending as much time with trial-and-error and getting to know the camera's capabilities. Visualize in your mind how you'd like the final image to look - then figure out the best steps towards achieving that goal.

Excellent shots! I was at Niagara Falls this summer, and it was beautiful. Your pics remind me Niagara

fusionx 10-21-2008 05:20 PM

Gorgeous -thanks!

Could you post links to the raws for these two? I want to make desktop backgrounds. I've been in Panama for over a year and I really miss having 4 seasons!

Breathtaking shots. Excellent photos.

I've heard great things about the D80. I've always been a Canon Man (d30 now) but I'm hearing that the Nikon blows it away. Looks like there may be some truth to that.

I grew up outside of Buffalo and the one thing I truly miss is the fall time.

Weather gets chilly, slight crisp in the air, perfect for chili and apple crisp. Leaves turning ... love the autumn.

Evil Chris 10-21-2008 07:56 PM

Thanks I always enjoy your pictures....
