It's degenerated into mostly outright lies now. The GOP today has been saying that Obama plans to give checks to people who dont pay taxes. That his 95% tax break for the middle class includes people who never work or pay taxes in the first place. McCain claimed it was 40%, lol.

When a reporter pointed out to a McCain campaign spokesperson today that Obama's plan has always said 95% of WORKING Americans which excludes any non-tax paying people, the McCain spokesperson said they simply dont BELIEVE Obama means "working americans" (even though he's never said anything but).

So they lie, and say they lie because they think Obama is just a liar.

If you're an Obama guy, who cares? The attacks aren't working and haven't even when they sprung up in the primary. We're in the worst financial crisis of our generation and people care about keeping their job or what they'll have when they retire. Sure the attacks will invigorate the Republican base, but that base has been shrinking a lot since 2004 and can't win him the election.

The guy's whole campaign has been self destructive, so just let him and his surrogates shoot their foot over and over again.

At the end of the year, if I owe the IRS money it's because I didn't pay enough, if I get a check back, it's because I paid to much.

The reason why those things didn't work is because of the internet. The internet has been McCain's worst enemy. In pre-internet times, McCain would be wiping the floor with Obama's face because the electorate had only the media to rely on for its information. Smears would stick much easier. Now, individuals can factcheck claims and research candidates with a click of a mouse. You have a more engaged and informed electorate disseminating campaign information and spreading it virally. The more outlandish the claims, the more poorly it reflects on the candidate making them. The internet is proving to be a major chink in the armor of old campaign strategies.

No you just didn't read what I said right. Im not saying 95% don't pay taxes you dingleberries. Im saying that 95% that was claimed will get a tax break do not pay taxes. Why is this so hard to understand. I was disputing the statement. You can't get a tax break if you don't pay taxes, and 95% of all people DO NOT pay taxes. 40% do not, meaning only 60% do pay taxes. Therefore saying that 95% of Americans will get a tax cut is bullshit.

Taxes are deducted out of your check every time one is issued. These people will be getting like 500 bux - 1000 bux back. So someone making like 22k will get a measly 1k back from the taxes taken out of his check.

For this guy this money goes a very long way in improving his quality of life. The 5k or so extra the guy making 350k has to pay out of his taxes on the difference between 350 and 250 with Obamas new tax rate will not suffer nearly to the level that that 1k extra is able to provide that other person.

These other people that are being targeted with this most likely live in "real america" or the "pro-america" parts of this country. As they hate, they dont realize they will better be able to provide for their families on the shitty jobs available to them.

The republicans in charge lie to the lower class people in these parts saying they will cut their taxes, when none of them will ever come near being helped by it (one day!!). They sell em a pipe dream and coat it with pretending to care about abortion and religion.
