love my puppy! Her name is Kali got her about 2 months ago - they picked her up in Alabama with a broken leg and tail, shipped her to new hampshire (she missed being youthenized by 1 day, thank god) and I picked her up in NH while down there shooting. She makes my constant border crossings from candada to the U.S. easier lol, they see her sleeping in the passenger seat and just wave me through haha

actually...if anyone has any idea what she might be please tell! I know she's primarily shepherd, but no idea what shes mixed with.

and that's kali making a dog 4 times her size run for his life

Here are my girls. Lola is a German Shepherd mix and Husker is a black lab mix. Lola was a rescue dog and Husker I adopted from the pound so I do not know what they are mixed with. Lola is 7 and a half and Husker is 5.

omfg! I can't believe it lol - I'm normally a spelling nazi hehe - thanks for pointing it out!

in terms of her breed - she looks waaaaay shepherd, but shes only about 45 pounds at 7 months, which means she's either a runt purebread (with magical dingo ears) or a mix with something and she got mostly shepherd genes hehehe

she has definitely gained muscle and body weight since I got her, her ribs were jutting out, as I later found out, she had tapeworm for quite a while, meaning she was a stray with little to no food and a tape worm, and the humane society didn't treat her for it, nor did they give enough food to suppliment the tape worm, so until I got her and free-fed her she was severely mal-nourished :( Miracle she survived that and being euthanized (:thumbsup) by such a close margin.

her small size could be due soley to being undernurished for so long :(
shame!! well its a good thing she has a new home now

she is cute as can be - enjoy her!!
makes me want to go to the rescue right now

Simon_Spicecash 10-24-2008 05:03 PM

actually that's a good point. I had thought about that when I saw some segments of the tapeworm shed and come out (ya I'm like an overprotective mother, I check her poop all the time, so sue me! lol)

Nice looking dogs. What do you feed your German Shepherd? My Shepherd does not like most dog foogs and I have tried several. She is a picky eater.

Hey Jane -- I get some 'holistic' kibble from the pet food store, that is 100% natural and all that. Polo is very fussy as well, so I usually add some gravy, tinned salmon, or bacon fat to the kibble and it doesn't touch the sides.

Chocolate Lab.

Great dog!

Very playful and a good listener. Just an all-round beautiful and fun loving pup!

We let my 10 yr old daughter name her, and she came up with Harley. Not to be left out, our 4 yr old son got to give her a middle name. His choice, of course - was something he loved and cherished immensely. So, with that said ... here's Harley Big Rig :1orglaugh

Thanks. I will give that kibble a try. I do add some gravy or some meat but she just picks that out and leaves the dog food.

I used to have a Siberian Husky, very beautiful dogs, mines name was Bam, about a year and a half old, I miss him dearly, was a very good dog, I just had to get rid of him at the time because I couldn't afford to take care of myself let alone him, I wish I could find out where he's at now and get him back.

I am sorry to hear that. I am sure he is with a good home. If you want another dog the pound is a great place to adopt one from. I know here they have some beautiful Huskies at the Mesa pound.

Yeah, the key is to coat the kibble with something soooo delicious to a dog, that they have to eat it. The brine from the tinned salmon drives my dog mental.
