Sadly what I got from people who were against gay marriage on mainstream boards is that they think legalizing gay marriage will result in kids being taught it in school or something. They think gay people are out to turn kids gay or something retarded like that.

Really comes down to whether you beleive being gay is nature or nurture... its sad that people think the latter.

Wednesday, November 5th

As deeply disappointed as we all are that California voters passed Proposition 8, we must not allow that disappointment to linger. This vote is a temporary defeat in the long march toward equal rights for all citizens in America.

Please join me for a protest rally tonight at 7 pm on San Vicente Blvd between West Hollywood Park and the Pacific Design Center (647 N. San Vicente Blvd. West Hollywood CA 90069) as we move forward towards restoring equality for all in California.

San Vicente Blvd, between Santa Monica Blvd and Melrose Avenue will be closed tonight starting at 6 pm. San Vicente south-bound traffic will be directed to make left or right at Santa Monica Blvd. Signs have already been posted to help divert traffic.

Marriage is fine. Pointing to the divorce rate as a reason not to get married is like pointing to the small business failure rate which is much higher and saying "why would you want to start a business"?

Been married for a while now, nothing wrong with it. If you approach it with a modicum of intelligence and not marry the drunk crack whore you've only known for 3 months as a fuck buddy then it's not really an issue. If you've lived with someone for a couple of years a bit of paper doesn't change the situation.

I have never been more disappointed and embarrassed to be a California native. I understand Arizona and Florida..but come on California, what the fuck?

I thought people love America 'cause of freedom and all that bullshit. Guess no one believes in the 14th Amendment, or has an extremely peculiar definition of "equal":

Why not polygamy? Civil unions seem like a fine idea to me. If i were gay I'd be quite fine with that, and knowing that I am living in a country that doesn't hang me or view me as a complete degenerate I'd be willing to accept the social norms of marriage as they are.

It's so upsetting that people can be so easily swayed at the mention of "protecting our children." I don't remember learning anything in school about the subject of marriage at all - but I certainly remember learning about equal rights and tolerance.

Teaching children (by banning gay marriage) that gays should not have equal rights as everyone else, then also teaching them to treat them equally and tolerantly is hypocritical and confusing.

I'm very disappointed that parents in Cali bought into the bullshit and could be so ignorant as to teach their kids to discriminate. It's really sad:(:(:(

the religious right targeted black and hispanic votes who voted would have normally stayed home but came to the polls to support obama, even though their views were normally conservative.

i haven't seen the law but does it also ban civil unions because if it doesn't such a ban is a true balance between a homosexual couple right to be in a committed union and the right for religious groups not to forced to reject their biblical teaching.

forcing gay marriage on those relgious individual would be the same as forcing jews to eat pork.
