look, the reason AWE has the 14 day cookie thing is this :

You can try to get this client again and get more revenue from this spender. If you do not get him back, someone else will, and he will get the revenue then.

Now they are trying to grab this client, and less revenue for the webmaster is left. So the motivational reason for the 14day cookie becomes more useless then ever. AWE is now active trying to be a webmaster also. They have the privilege they can do this on their own domain, and with a tube site filled with long play movies. Who wants to compete with this?

Now webmasters competing webmasters, i dont have a problem with
but we talk about Sponsor competing against the webmaster by catching the client on a PPS tube site and keep him for themselves without giving their affiliates a chance to grab him again.

Lets keep it simple shall we? 14 day over, AWE does the first try to catch the client with a pop-under on their own site. not the webmaster....
When u use a PPS, you are serious draining the pool with new fish.

Sorry to interrupt you here
When you send traffic to livejasmin, you do this under your own REF PSID link
no popup there. ( please keep this in the back of your mind to not start confusion )

We are talking about the options to re-catch your client again, this option is now very smaller then before. After 14 days, the client goes back in the pool, and when the client still visits your websites, you keep him longer then the 14 day. When he does not, AWE will be the first one to catch it under the terms of PPS, so no revshare ever possible to get from him. PPS is the end of all Revshare.

So the statement they use to keep up the 14 day cookie thing is under pressure. If a sponsor tries to get them under a own PPS account, like what is happening now, something serious goes wrong.

It is also a tube site with pretty much long play videos on there.
I dont know the details anymore, but nevertheless, i do not send them to much traffic anymore after i read how their repps jump in the fire to defend their Marketing Talents.

Go look at the amount of performers on the other cam sites mentioned, its laughable... thats why awe will still outperform.

trust me i know they can do what ever with their websites. and i agree they are up there very high when it comes to cam sites, their webmaster tools rock. and anybody that learns this, can make great money with them. but what i am seeing right now, is just wrong. :2 cents:

LOL there is not a reason to say that yet. Wait until they have taken the time to come up with a good answer. After that we are free to type our emotions into words on this board. And i am sure they will come, but i am not sure if we like the answer that is coming.

tiger 11-07-2008 01:33 PM

Looks like it may be time for me to try a new sponsor.

Tjeezers 11-07-2008 01:37 PM

Anyone knows the Tube Model that is created by Cams.com and Penthouse.com?
You send to tube penthouse your traffic, and the live cam adds carry your ID. As soon the tube surfer joins Tube Penthouse, you get some cash, and... thats the best thing... your signed up penthouse tube surfer see the cam adds with your refferal link code in it for always.

This model is now like ehhh 6 months old or something? I was freaking out on the begin after reading 4 lines. My mind said, TUBE? Shit i am in trouble.
But as soon Nancy explained to me the plan, and how affiliates can make more cam sales, i was happy. Hoping also that many would take over this idea.

Ball breaker conclusion:
If a sponsor wishes to play with tubes, and test it out. Then TEST it with your affiliates. Do not go sneaky behind our backs do things to make your own wallet bigger and ours smaller in time. We have a hand in hand relation as webmaster and sponsor. When you think you hold our hand long enough and start running off, we feel abused and misunderstood. We are not your parents and let you go when your finally able to make your own steps and choices. Despite you learned it from us ;) ... No We are your partners. The ones who help you from ZERO to HERO. It should be a contract for life. Do not do shady things, we will be like your parents then and kick you under your ass.

Of course above all sounds to beautiful for words. In the mean time reality is a face kicker and you see left and right this everlasting process of sponsors who try to back out of the relation they started with us from day 1.

Enough said for now, untill AWE shows up and explain her plans about this pop-under this thread is not getting power or a conversation level yet of any size that impresses me and makes me say '" I am wrong, sponsors never fuck webmasters '"

Dear Affiliates,

I was notified about the concerns/questions you had in regards to the popunders displayed on LiveJasmin.

We understand how valuable your traffic is to you, most of you have been with AWE for a long time and have come to trust, respect and profit off of the way we do business.
Naturally, as in the case of any business, it is nearly impossible to please everyone and we respect and accept the fact that not everyone is interested in working with us.

However, I urge those in doubt to go straight to the source by contacting us and getting relevant answers to your questions.

Our business did not get to where it is today by short-sighted thinking.
If we were in this business for the quick buck we would operate by different values and standards.

I personally commend those who refrain from coming to premature conclusions before getting specific, adequate information about an issue.

Having just returned from a business trip allow me to briefly clarify the methodology by which popunders are currently (and have been) displayed for end users.

- Popunders are only displayed for certain countries
- Popunders DO NOT appear for any visitor that comes through an affiliate link
- Popunders DO NOT appear for any visitor carrying an affiliate cookie

We also respect our end users' need for a pleasant online experience, therefore popunders are only displayed periodically.

Feel free to contact any of our team members directly with any further questions and/or concerns.
In addition, I will check this thread tomorrow.

That PPS seems short-sighted and is punching affiliates right in the satchel though, especially on huge traffic sites.

I kinda like the 14-day REVS pool that is built up by AWE, but when livesex and livesexlist use PPS, it pulls fish out of the pool. If the 14-day cookie for revshare is so awesome, why do the in-house AWE traffic sites use PPS?

:Oh crap

I think the country of a visitor is not a reason to do such things. I had sales on AWE from countries i never heard. If you want to be right with your affiliates, and you don't like "certain countries" then give use the option to send this traffic on other places.

I mention AWE is one of the sponsors i really like, despite the 14 days stuff or what other say. But the last marketing AWE is promoting makes me contemplate more ..

how would that help you , they dont have popups on your traffic period.. the popunders are on their own traffic for visitors that DON'T have a cookie set . i.e. they found the site without following anyones link.

drama time?

See siggy for your MSD Pop up ads!

MoreMagic 11-07-2008 10:34 PM

Since when does AWE has there own traffic? From those view failed tgp they had? Every hit that comes to there domains came 1st line from there affiliates.

Now there was still a possibility by a affiliate to turn a visitor into a member (for example by a great review for Livejasmin on your blog) a user is already cookied by there visitor scraper site livesex.

You cant else conclude that they made this to fuck there affiliates over, why would they else do it?

But don't forget 1 thing, every hit, every type in or search at the SE are there because of your affilates, NOT becouse traffic comes falling out of the sky.

There are an hour long videos like the popular "Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane" at http://community.livesex.com/free/video/4443.html too, another tube with stolen content hiding behind dmca.

I think that AWE is free to do those popunders at their site to surfers without an affiliate link and without a cookie, but lol I don't get why they want to hurt their own business with that tube site. A couple of text ads to cams sites in a tube site like that are going to convert a very low percentage of users.
