i voted for "ban" but i would co-sign on the idea of making a user setting like "accept thumblogger sites" or "don't show thumblogger sites" or something. i even have one thumblogger url in there (out of like 20)

when i get a request from someone i pretty much ignore all their thumblogger URL's. it'd at least be less of a nuisance to have it that way

not all thumblogger sites suck. but if i'm in it for backlinks, a thumblogger backlink doesn't do me much good

pigface 11-25-2008 01:46 AM

bn them + all other freehosts

I like the idea aswell, Yea a filter for free hosts, as someone else suggested also. Nice :thumbsup

As far as thumblogger, some others who have posted here have missed, or do not want to accept, what I've been trying to say...

Which is that Twain has made it clear with his actions that he does not want his thumblogger associated with Thunder-ball in anyway.

But I like the filter idea and would definetly co-sign on it aswell for other free hosts :winkwink:

...and then if someone tries to send a request and they have only thumblogger, have Alicia say "Hey Douchebag! This webmaster doesn't want your Thumblogger links!"

:pimp

Chedwick 11-25-2008 03:49 AM

I voted for banning

Shaze 11-25-2008 04:00 AM

you should ban all free blog hosting domains. all requests from them are almost pure shit. if i see a request from a free blogging host i automatically delete without even looking. or at least give the users an option to allow free blog hosts domains to requests exchanges with them or not.

rarely i accept thumblogger trades so i dont care if you ban them, and it would clean thunderball up pretty good...

i was going to say the same thing too....ban all free hosts

BALTHAZAR 11-25-2008 06:42 AM

no!!! why???

StarkReality 11-25-2008 07:21 AM

I wouldn't ban them, but offer an additional filter/block option for subdomains. I'm against banning any service in general. Every user has a blacklist feature for other users, just add one for domains and everybody can make his own decision.

Mantas 11-25-2008 07:29 AM

"Fuck it".

Nuevo Niveau 11-25-2008 08:39 AM

I use Thumblogger blogs, i have about 4 or 5 and they all perform quite well, they get indexed fast, get perfect rankings and good value traffic. Like from every other site, links from thumblogger can be a waste of time or can give good linkjuice. What i want to say: Thumblogger blogs are not all bad, if you know how to use them (again: Same as own hosted domains! If i can choose between a selfh. domain with 100 Backlinks and a thumblogger blog with 1.5k backlinks, i would take the thumblogger backlink 4 sure).

The other problem is the blocking of the TBN Bot by thumblogger - i dont really get why they do that - backlinks drive traffic to thumblogger, ergo - they earn more money - why the fuck dont they want that?? (my guess is some kind of private problems between the owners, otherwise i wouldnt have a explanation) - and for that fact, YEAH - FUCK THUMBLOGGER - why block good business?

OK, the vote ... Difficult. Really difficult. I cant decide, but must say, i tend to vote Pro Thumblogger, they just rank to good on google.

EDIT: What i really want banned, are those tubes... FUCK free porn!

Megan Essog 11-25-2008 09:15 AM

Awesome.... glad to see!

Video Rob 11-25-2008 10:12 AM

I think a filter is the best option, if thats not possible then ban them

Supz 11-25-2008 10:14 AM

Get rid of them

Cucumber 11-25-2008 10:20 AM

IMO the best option is offering an option similar to domain addition where users can add domains to their shitlist so they cant receive any requests from it.
That way you can leave thumblogger and other free hosts for those who want to use it, but also make other users that dont need it happy and free of spam/whatever.

This way you can kind of separate experienced webmasters from noobs... and stop someone spamming you without shitlisting them.

:2 cents:

Relentless 11-25-2008 10:33 AM

Set it so that anyone with 2x more shitlists than friends has their account suspended AND the domains on their account can not be readded on a new account (to prevent people from making multiple names).

Let the users weed out the idiots by shitlisting them. If everyone shitlists spammers with crappy links the system will be clean in a few weeks.

There are plenty of asshats spamming things other than Thumblogger and plenty of good traders with quality thumblogger link offers.

Tball already has the solution built into it... give shitlisting someone TEETH. Get shitlisted no problem... get shitlisted by 50 people and unless you have at least 100 friends yer fucked. :2 cents:

Good idea, really! Some of those spammers never add your link to their site. Your link is up for months and they dont link back, those shitbags

I agree. Let the members of TBN to choose if they want or not to trade with any free host.

maybe a special section for thumblogger and the freehosts ... a filter like someone already suggested

ElPolloDiablo 11-25-2008 12:33 PM

I voted for allow, because I strongly feel that adult (age-wise speaking) webmasters should be able to deal with each other on mature level.

I think Twan's behavior is a fucking scandal. I strongly urge him to WHITELIST TB's spiders.

It is possible that his thumblogger site constantly identifies TB's spiders as malicious attacks and that the software therefore decides that it should be blacklisted.

That's why I think that not only should TB's spiders be UN-BLACKLISTED, they should also be PERMANENTLY WHITELISTED.

No IP on a whitelist should ever be able to get on the blacklist.

Twan... make that fucking whitelist goddamnit.

Finally, I salute that. But why leave sensualwriter blogs which is pretty much same thing from the same owner? I mean everybody will just switch from thumblogger to sensualwriter and do the same thing......
Also other freehosts...

V_RocKs 11-25-2008 02:53 PM

Ban new ones... I have received in the past 3 months no less than 1000 requests and as many as 80 per day from these idiots and their sites are shit with RSS feeds half the time. Link farms up the ass and often want to put my link in the footer... Not even in the sidebar!

Not to mention they want a PR3 link into their crap for a trademark while giving me back a PR0 link from a subdomain...

cyberdesi 11-25-2008 02:53 PM

hey guys, Thumblogger - cool host :) don't touch it!! :error

V_RocKs 11-25-2008 02:55 PM

Also, if thumblogger won't allow you to spider for link checking it is pointless to allow any of them.

nation-x 11-25-2008 03:01 PM

lol... ban them then... hehe... lol... you are such an idiot

He also has another free host for a total of three.

footmonkey 11-25-2008 03:41 PM

I get requests FROM my-good-domain.com TO their-good-domain.com all the time but when I look for a recip it's only thumblogger URLs. Not having to wade through their 100s of thumblogger URLs looking for a good one would certainly save time and sanity.

Captain Kawaii 11-25-2008 04:24 PM

All my stalled trades on Thunder Ball are with thumblogger... usually a crappy site. hardly seems worth it...

NaughtyGirl 11-25-2008 04:30 PM

Okay one I am a thunder-ball user and a thumblogger user and yes I agree you have a huge argument here, But i for one have never bashed thunderball and MR.Bond I have chatted with you on nurmerous occasions about the two of them and you even set me up away so my thumblogger blogs does not get mixed up with my other blogs! I hope you remember what I am talking and the chats we have had!

I am a big fan of thunder-ball and have been a huge supporter for them over at thumblogger and I too and tired of the stuff that has been going on but I can not be blamed for the shit of another person! I hate the fact that thunder-ball gets banned for no apperent reason what so ever but I for one am getting the blunt end of the deal!

I have stopped using thunder-ball unwillingly because of the issue between the two and I go in every so offten just to see trades deleted and I never once took a link off! I know I am no body compared to the people on this forum but i do work my ass off trying to make something with my life!

Sorry for my ranting but i dont like beng accused of bashing thunder-ball when I have been there biggest supporter and please correct me if I am wrong on that but I doubt you can!

Oh and all my blogs are written by hand and are not splogs!

It is unfortunate MOST of the people abuse thumblogger. A lot of people with 2 post blogs that consistently bother you over and over for link trades. You give them 1 trade because they have a decent blog in your niche, then you are bombarded with 100 trade requests from 0 production blogs trying to get links on your pr2/pr3 blogs.

NaughtyGirl 11-25-2008 04:43 PM

I have never bombed someone with trades, when I try to go looking for trades I make sure I only do 1 to 3 trades per person and that i think is being very curtious! I try not to step on toes there because I realize it is a great tool and have respected the place since the get go!

NaughtyGirl 11-25-2008 04:55 PM

At this point I could really care less how this goes because I am so fed up with trying to keep my trades going! I know that xlogz to is a big friggen headache because it takes an hour just to try to write a damn post on it and well I have given up on that host, but I have a new account on thunderball that will not be tarnished with freehost sites no more and I hope to make some good trades with others! But being that this is such a wide range focus on thunderball it is hard to come accross as a legit webmaster and I am sorry for ever using free host in the first place and wish I was smart enough to do it all on my own!

I still dont think its right that we all are getting a bad name because of this and people saying we all bash thunder-ball because I never have!

Hit me up on ICQ if you want

NaughtyGirl 11-25-2008 05:18 PM

No Sweetie and I have already talked to MR>Bond he knows me well from all this and things are all good now!

I just seen that someone said thumblogger users bash thunderball and I for one dont!
