i noticed that in mainstream you have like 20-25% cancellations sometimes - depending on the product. it can be a bit frustrating when you come from adult and you have to take that into your calculation
|
Because mainstream commission is usually about 1%-4%?

You gotta push big sales thru to make it. Adult payouts are good and it's becoming plug-n-play : sign up, plug in, get check. |

LOL I've never seen an industry in my life that offers more to their "commissioned sales people" to help them make $$$. Ads, custom ads, Free Image Galleries, Free Movie Galleries, RSS Feeds, FREE HOSTING, FREE CONTENT, and the list goes on and on ... all FREE! Basically, "Here's everything YOU NEED and we'll foot the bill for all the costs of licensing, technology, hardware, bandwidth and anything else ... you just go bring sales, ok?" Don't get me wrong. I know it's not as easy as it once was to generate traffic and tubes, torrents, surfer rip forums, yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah ... but it's almost a FREE "turnkey business" and has been for years now. Do you think maybe that webmasters have been spoiled by adult and the PPS model? Sponsors pay more than they make per sale ... and on top of that, the affiliate program takes the hit on cancellations and charge backs. That is, unless it's a true partnership program - and there are very few REAL partnership programs in existence. That question/statement wasn't necessarily aimed at you, MaDalton - just a general question/statement :upsidedow Affiliates are basically "sales people". You RARELY see a company/industry in "the real world" pay their sales people MORE than what they make on a sale. Don't get me wrong, it happens. The Cell Phone industry, for example, gave away the phone and paid 'reps' hundreds of $$$'s for new accounts back in the day - but at least they got customers/consumers to pay with long-term contracts. :winkwink: Quote:
It really depends on what you're selling. If it's a retail physical item with low markup then low %'s are all you're going to get. If it's an "info product" or software you can make a much higher %. |

sortie, I have seen you post enough over the past 6-8 months to be able to recognize that you don't know shit, and whenever you don't know something you always make a post and disguise it as a timid question about that particular something
this thread was your attempt to get ideas about pushing mainstream products because you are obviously not doing well in adult...don't worry though, I did the same thing when I started out 13 years ago...you HAVE to put feelers out and see where the market is and see if anything tickles your fancy but the fact that you are obviously some 18 year old kid with absolutely no clue about how to work anything is what is laughable you make a couple of references in this thread about how easy adult is...you put up links and make sales...but I would venture to guess you couldn't even consistently make one sale a day with any program, otherwise you wouldn't beat into the gfy thread viewers heads about how you put up links and makes sales so easily my suggestion...go back to school, drop out of porn, and leave us the FUCK alone with your pseudo intellectual surfmaster verbal vomit |

1: Find small but vibrant niche with mostly paid services. 2: Develop free, high-quality alternative (with either upsales or advertising, or both). 3: Sit back and laugh as the competition fails to adapt to the changed marketplace. The key part is to think *small*, though. The bigger a market, the more competition you'll probably encounter, and the smaller the profit margins are likely to be. Small markets, on the other hand, often have only a handful of semi-serious players, who in many cases depend on that small market for their entire income, and thus both overcharge and overdeliver. Cut the 20% most labor-intensive parts from their business model, and you'll often be able to offer what 90% of the market wants for free while still enjoying decent profit margins. A good example is something I did a few years ago. There was a small agency that put together customized guides for a certain semi-popular touristic area. I drove them out of business by coming up with two short standard guides and putting them online for free. They made a living by selling complete packages with a ridiculous profit margin, I made decent money from advertising by a few hotels and restaurants in the region (in the form of reviews, of course). It took me a week to create what 90% of their customers wanted. It took them two people working a full time job to deliver the little bit extra that the remaining 10% wanted. The moment I entered the market, they lost 90% of their customer base to me, and went out of business. After that, the rest of the market was mine, too. |
