all jokes aside

hope you find the right solution to this muck a muck

angeleyes 01-11-2009 08:02 PM

Yeah, we decided that we are actually going to take it to one of those wicca stores to find the origin and what we should do with it. Especially if it was some kind of ritual with another culture, we want to keep with it and do what we are "supposed to" with it.

angeleyes 01-12-2009 02:37 AM

OK, now the freak is on............. we recorded the room lastnight for shits and giggles and just now decided to listen to it and we hear some weird as heavy whispering shit that you can't quite make out.

I don't believe in this shit, Either I'm losing my mind, the recorder is fucked up or I don't know WTF to think..... Will upload the recording shortly.

Most likely unrelated.... my BF (another one of those ppl that thinks I have a spirit trapped here.) unscrewed my air vents and we found a really fucked up looking little clay vile with a cork, nothing in it, but a really funky design on it and it was jammed wayyyy down in the air duct in the BR. (and you can tell the duct vents haven't been removed in a long time because it ripped about 10 layers of paint off with it when he removed it.

Now, I'm all curious... what would you do? Just throw it out or find out what the design means?

Those are usually incense oils, the previous resident put them in the air vent to spread the scent. No ghost here..

Blingbaby 01-12-2009 02:43 AM

Ok wow, I just read through the replies here and I have to re-post

IT'S A FUCKING SCENT OIL BOTTLE!!! NO GHOST

That's not necessarily accurate but in this case it seems to just be a scent oil bottle..

quantum-x 01-12-2009 03:12 AM

Jesus christ.
Throw the bottle out, and get one with life eh?
It's all in your head, like all mumbo-jumbo.

All you're gonna do is start to waste money on 'healers' or the 'spiritually intouch'.

I can just see their forums: "hahah, this woman came to me with a scented oil bottle. I told her it was an Incan pain vial. Should get at least $5k out of her, LOL"

munki 01-12-2009 03:14 AM

Thread of the year?

PBX 01-12-2009 03:22 AM

Actually its voodoo. Most likely contained the ashes of an animal. A bat or a bats heart to be more specific. Its black magic used to break up a love affair or marriage.

onwebcam 01-12-2009 03:29 AM

Doesn't the cap being on the bottle sort of rule out it being an air freshener in the vent?

I don't buy the whole ghost putting it there stuff. And well don't really believe in ghosts myself either. The closest thing I've ever came to believing in them was in an old house I lived in my son always asked me about "the man in the basement." He was 2-3 so I didn't put much into it. The way I explained it to myself is the Gas guy going down there to turn on the gas when I moved in which is the only other male to be down there besides me the whole time I lived there. I assumed that my son never saw him leave so he figured he was still down there.

There was one other instance at that house. I came home one day and opened my front door to ear a big crashing sound upstairs. I went up to look around and saw my surfboard laying on the floor so that explained that. Later that night I went into my second story sun room and the painted shut window was open. But there again I had an explanation. Someone was likely in my house knocked over the surfboard as they headed for the window to jump down.

Simply put there's always an explanation. Whispers on a recorder could just be your voices in the other room doing the dirty or talking in your sleep. Voices carry easily in those old houses.

post the audio yo

No, that's how it's done. It's very common, the oil leaks out throgh the unglazed ceramic just enough where it's released slowly over time and doesn't evaporate too quickly. This really is very common stuff depending on what circles you hang out in. Go to any headshop and you'll see this everywhere.

brassmonkey 01-12-2009 04:08 AM

yeah i want 2 hear it :helpme:Oh crap

Many years a go we lived in a flat where two kids had died in a fire, We knew nothing about it until about a month later when the neighbours told us what had happened, Before that the flat seemed fine but after we found out what had happened my misses thought the flat was haunted, I guess things like this play on some peoples mind and they start to imagine all sorts of things, and once youve got it into your head that something is not right about a place, its kinda hard to think otherwise. I personally dont believe in ghosts but you never know I guess..

XX_RydeR 01-12-2009 04:23 AM

Makes sense seeing as though you found it in a duct.

No, it's oil that seaps into the pores of the jar and that's how the scent is released - the glazed portion of the vase prevents it from staining your furniture. The cork is there to prevent it from spilling onto your furniture.

Fletch XXX 01-12-2009 06:57 AM

superstition is just as bad as religion, throw it away and move on, what next a fairy gonna fly out the window and youll see a dragon?

Damn - missed your reply hehehehe but you are correct ;)

See? it is just as I fucking said but no one pays attention to my clever sarcasm ...

The moment you start hearing weird shit such as whispering and laughter coming from odd places where people are very unlikely to be in, drastic temperature drops around the house, chairs that move from place to place and your cat starts to levitate....then you know you have some serious shit in your hands...

yep, that's why it looks like some sort of clay bottle... the scented oils seep through the clay and the odor is released. :)

Vodka will help make it easier to see and hear the spirits. It will help you deal with the spirits cold spells and amplify their voices.

Angeleyes, you need more vodka to help tame these ghosts.

or whiskey, rum, whatever is in the kitchen.

make lots of videos and put them on youtube! Its the only way to defeat the ghosts. :1orglaugh

(good luck girly!)

qxm 01-12-2009 07:36 AM

with a lil bit of lsd she could also see the sounds and hear the colors.....

bloggingseo 01-12-2009 07:52 AM

The cork and ceramic (usually terra cotta) are both porus, making them ideal for long-term scented oil diffusing. To put it in the air vent makes sense, although it'd've worked better putting it near, or in the intake vent.

But yeah, could be a ghost. Why couldnt it? lol

Phil 01-12-2009 09:34 AM

you're going to die. I knew of a guy that found same looking thing in his air duct. 10 days later he died in agony.

andy83 01-12-2009 09:37 AM

well if you did take ALL the advice in this thread and made videos (youtube/etc, where they pay u for viewers) and then wrote a story, and finally place the item on ebay, i'm guessing you wouldnt have to work anymore for the rest of your life.

but yeah if u're really worried, bring it over to a shaman or something (even if it wasn't real, you'll probably get ripped off by them to so call exorcise or pacify or whatever, as that's their job)

edit : forgot to say, blog about it and link back to this thread and whatsoever, make a few more threads in other boards that you frequent and upload pics/vids all over tube sites. and there u have it :)

Tom_PM 01-12-2009 10:11 AM

Alternate explanation:

Gotta store 'em somewhere!

Cyndalie 01-12-2009 10:19 AM

Throw it away. The only magical powers it has are the ones you apply to it in your mind and then make real because you are looking for it to be real.

Iron Mike 01-12-2009 12:16 PM

Hi, are you still alive?
Please post some more pics of your rooms, boyfriend, cat, air vent etc. so the paranormal experts on gfy can do furhter research on this extraordinary case.

It's very accurate.

If there was undeniable concrete proof of such things you would be hearing about it and seeing it on all the networks.

The fact is nothing like that will ever happen because such a thing does not exist.

There is no such thing.

Period.
