"bring Google one step closer to dethroning Windows on your desktop"
huh? Google is a website, it's not even on my desktop. I dont have gmail, I dont use g-anything. When I search the 'net though, I tend to use google first. It's a nice search, so I'll just say happy dethroning! |
Sounds like a bad idea to me.
I can barely download a video of a guy getting kicked in the nuts on Youtube with my cable connection. Now I'm supposed to keep all my data somewhere in the ether? Fuck all that mess. |
According to the police - google CAN (I don't think they ever have) tell every search a BOX has every made based on mac address :)
|
Fuck that. I will keep my hard drive.
|
Besides the fact it is stupid, with ISPs insituting caps what good is this?

Wow cool! So now the government won't have to use those backdoor passwords to get into my computer they can just use a google search engine to search through mine and everyone else's files in their data center.
|
More google crap that doesn't make any money. What are they going to do? Plant little ads in all your files?
I remember in the late 90's everyone said that cloud computing would dethrone Mircosoft, back then it was Oracle who was going to do it. Never happened. They said computers would be become simple appliances with no real computing power and everything would be on the web. Well, computers got even more powerful, the complete opposite. |
Great, I can finally start that free porn collection I've been dreaming of.

I am however pretty sure that they have a setup where they can predict with some confidence that x% of searches from a given IP belong to a particular person. They use a long held cookie and I'm sure they have an algorithm that can "rejoin" a chain that is broken by that cookie being cleared (eg if someone upgrades their computer) That's why I *really* need to write this script I keep thinking about that does one simple thing: feeds random queries to Google 24/7. My own queries will be hiding in plain sight. :warning :winkwink: |

from my data. If a hacker breaks into your gdrive account then they just load it up and it then "syncs" up automatically with your hard drive. No thanks. |
