boneprone 01-21-2009 02:11 AM

Seems like there is still come debate on the Redhead in the first pic.
Here is another pic I took of her yesterday.

Even though she's not your taste in women, you have to admit she photographs well and for someone who would like redheads she would be a great catch!

Stephen McTowelie 01-21-2009 02:56 AM

Nice pics as always Boneprone, if only we got super hot cheer leaders in the UK !
All we have here are strippers :upsidedow :pimp

Keep taking those photos ! (less basketball players and more pussy next time !)

huda 01-21-2009 03:35 AM

I looove cheerleaders!

NicAngel 01-21-2009 04:18 AM

they're all so adorable and lucky to be photographed by you. right now they have big egos from instant fame and attention. but their 10 minutes of fame might be up soon so they should appreciate the attention and recognition you give them! (i know this for a fact as i am an ex-NFL cheerleader and this happens a lot with the girls)

STR$ 01-21-2009 04:32 AM

Chosen 01-21-2009 04:43 AM

The NFL Cheerleaders are the hottest!

Which team?

JP-pornshooter 01-21-2009 01:49 PM

nice photos..
how does it work for the "press", it seems when they take a photo it sets off a central flash system, i guess they have some sort of trigger system, do you know how it works?

Im not familar with any central flash system. There cant be any flash becasue it would distract the players.

All the press I see are on the floor sitting between my legs at the games. They have nice cameras with tons of glass.

NO FLASH.

NO FLASH.

No flash from the seats and sidelines... but not for the pros. There is usually no "central" system. The guys shooting professionally have their own strobes up in the rafters. That means the guys from Sports Illustrated, AP, Getty, local paper, etc... all have their own strobes up there. Maybe they share, maybe they don't.

Here's info from one of the best sports shooters out there:

Hmm intresting.
But that is an old article. I wonder if they still do that?

Ill ask..

On the floor of the games the lighting is so good you would not need this strobe shit.

My lens is not nearly as good as the guys on the floor. And I shoot at 500 iso.

The article was talking about with this strobe be able to shoot at 800 iso.. Ive never needed to shoot that high. And that without a flash at that.

I dont see those guys needing it. There is so much press or media on the floor now days I dont think they use it anymore. but maybe they do.

There was a site once upon a time at arenastrobes.com ... but the guy who had it wasn't selling lights, so he dumped it. You can find the archives and the info he had (without pics) in the internet archive. Here is relevant info about how and why...

When you can get the output of your strobes 2 stops over the ambient light or more, then the effective shutter speed you're shooting at becomes the speed at which the strobe can turn itself on and off. If you are using equipment that we recommend, it will be plenty fast! For instance, if I'm shooting at 1/250th @ f/5.6 at UT, the actual flashtubes are turning on and off in 1/2050th of a second.

The speed at which a strobe can turn on and turn off is called "flash duration." This is the single most important specification to check out when trying to figure out what equipment to buy. A "slow" strobe for sports is anything below 1/900th of a second. A fast strobe in my book is anything faster than 1/1500th. The shorter the duration of light (on and off), the more the action will be stopped on your film.

Using our UT example again, when I'm shooting a game here, I'm actually shooting at 1/2050th of a second and since my strobes are more powerful than the ambient light, every little shoelace and bead of sweat flying off a forehead, is dead stopped. I'm 5 stops over ambient at that point so I'm really shooting at 1/2050th of a second @ f/5.6 @ 125 ASA.

and the setup the guy uses to shoot in one of the largest college arenas in the country:

This guy freelances and has turned down a job with SI.

Anal Hobbit 01-22-2009 01:01 AM

No one shoots at f/5.6 at an indoor game.
Not if they have a professional press pass.

Maybe the kids in the 200 level with their home cameras, but not the pros on the floor.

Jack Sparrow 01-22-2009 02:25 AM

They are cheerleaders, get in front of tenthousands of people, and then call you the stalker? Weird..

Nice pics, keep it coming me loves cheeries!

Yeah. WTF!!

But it seems its just two of them that really hate me. Not sure why. If its casue I take their pics or if its becasue im in porn.

Probably both.
But Jesus. Rather bitchy.

I havent taken a single pic of either one of them this season. No loss, the hot one isnt so hot this year anyhow with her new look. Or maybe its just her personality that really turns me off. either way I dont even look at her anymore.

vidvicious 01-22-2009 10:36 AM

nice pics .. for a creepy stalker guy

baddog 01-22-2009 10:47 AM

Unless you've been one of the guys on the floor, don't assume you know what they're doing. You obviously don't.

I spent ten years in the news business and have shot professional baseball, basketball, major college bowl games. I had video work on ABC and CNN.

The guy quoted is a full time freelancer who shoots assignments for SI, ESPN, the NBA, Upper Deck, and a whole bunch of magazines that you and I have never heard of. He is considered an expert on the subject of arena strobes. Go look at PMRPhoto dot com.

Granted, that was written before the super high-ISO cameras that are available now. But the point of using strobes is to get more light than ambient and incredibly fast exposures (the flash duration, not the shutter speed) in order to freeze the action.

A very recent thread on arena strobes:

i think they still use some sort of lighting system, i seem to recall being at games and seeing strobes go off many times throughout a game and wondering exactly who were setting them off..
try to pay attention to any strobes going off next time you are at a game or look at the pro's cameras to see if there is a trigger on it. perhaps you can get hands on a trigger and "hack" the code, then you'd get some really sweet cheerleader pics :thumbsup

BradM 01-22-2009 12:12 PM

They probably use the 32 channel PocketWizards. However many of these guys will have the individual digital signature added to their systems so they can't be tripped by just any transceiver.
