I have a friend on HGH, and his hair was always kind of on the thin side. He has been taking the stuff the last 2 years, and his hair looks like he is 20 years old again (he is actually 47). He said around 6 months in he noticed he didn't have the gray hairs growing in at all like he used to, and his hair started to grow in a lot healthier and thicker. He literally looks like he is 20 years younger, and he said he never felt this good, even when he was in his 20's. I don't believe he is taking the test, too, so I don't know how that would have affected it, but HGH alone apparently turns back the clock as far as your hair growth.

I'm 35 years old, and I plan on starting on HGH sometime this year. I am 6'3", and was always built kind of on the slim side and in shape, but about 3 years ago I started picking up a lot of weight from too much partying and eating like shit. I got as high as 230 pounds, which for me was ridiculous, until I did a 180 and started eating right again and hitting the gym hard. I'm back down to 175 and I'm starting to see abs again, but I just don't have the limitless energy that I used to. I know the HGH will change that.

As for the idiots knocking it, Randy Couture uses hormone replacement therapy. Feel free to look him up and tell him he doesn't work out hard enough...

Imortyl Pussycat 01-27-2009 05:12 PM

just turned 40 myself and don't even want to tell you how much cardio it takes/day to stay lean, it's ridiculous. i use free weights for toning because i get mushy without it. i am wondering what i can do on a smaller scale to increase the benefit of my workouts. what supplements i can take to help keep muscle. i don't want to go crazy but would like to have an aid in this daily routine.

i wonder for the guys on these therapies: if you stop taking the hormones at some point does your body get to a point that you can't naturally keep it in shape anymore?

be careful on your eating(the timing i mean). do it to the letter with your plan. i dated a guy that didnt follow the rules and the mood swings/aggression were insane

uno 01-27-2009 05:18 PM

How much is that all costing you a month? Dr visits, needles, drugs, etc...

billywatson 01-27-2009 05:25 PM

I checked into the whole "Dr Life" dealio with the Cenegentics dudes. That shit costs a lot -- starting with their $3500 check up. From there, it was like $800 - $1500 a month for the supps. :helpme

At a certain point in life it doesn't matter for people. What I mean is if a man is in his mid 40's he no longer has any hgh production and has very little testosterone production. So for a man it becomes hormone replacement therapy. I'd rather take hgh and a little test for the rest of my life than watch my body turn into an estrogen factory.

When you combine that with excercise and diet you can definitely turn back the clock and feel good again.

And for you Imortyl Pussycat, I would advise seeing an endicrinologist. Claudia-Marie started having weight gain about a year and a half ago. So we put her on a diet and jacked up the workouts at the gym...but nothing really worked. She ate like a bird and worked out like a crazy person and just sort of maintained the weight. Didn't gain anymore, but couldn't lose it either. And she was always tired.

Finally did some heavy research...took her to an endicrinologist. The doctor ran blood tests on her for a couple of weeks and then showed us the results. Her thyroid was running so low that she had the metabolism of a 65 year old woman!

She has now been on thryoid medication, HGH, AND topical testosterone (yes women need a small amount too) for the last month and a half and she is watching the weight just melt off and she is feeling good and energetic again. :)

age can cause your body to get to that point regardless of taking hormones, but it depends on what you mean by "in shape"...... naturally with age it becomes impossible to stay ripped unless you artificially modify your hormone profile by injecting something, but of course a 65 year old person can improve their fitness without taking hormones, but it becomes difficult to stay lean and there are many things you just can't fight with aging without hormonal intervention

as far as stopping once you've been taking them, you are right in that the natural hormones can become supressed by the external hormones that are being taken, so that coming off of hormones that you have been on for awhile may have some adverse effects

it will be $600-$1000 per month depending on the amount of hgh, if i go to 2 vials of hgh per month it will be ~$1000/month as each vial is $330. the test is $65ish per month, doc is $300 after the 1st visit. syringes are cheap.

i'm cool with that, fortunately i am in a place financially where i can do this and not be impacted.

i have been feeling tired lately. everyone knows i am the energizer bunny and then all of a sudden, crash. exercise used to keep me going but not so much now. i had a routine checkup a couple months ago and the dr. suggested testing all my levels but i was in a hurry to get out of there. i will def. take your suggestion and have it checked out. i noticed in Vegas that Claudia-Marie had dropped weight, she looks amazing but always has :thumbsup

CM went to her "regular" doctor and he did some tests of her thyroid and reported that everything was within "normal" levels.

But after doing some reading and seeing just how many women are misdiagnosed by their doctors when it comes to thyroid and hormones...we took her to the endicrinologist.

She has never had such thorough blood work done. It was almost to the point where I was starting to get pissed about it because they just kept doing tests (and charging us money).

But in the end it has worked out for the best. The specialist was definitely the way to go for her.

For me? I'll just get my hgh and test the old fashioned way. The blackmarket. lol A lot cheaper. :) Dangerous...but I don't really care about me. Claudia-Marie is far too precious to let her do it in any way other than the "right" way. :)

That's an expensive place for wealthy suckers with money to burn. My only in office doctor visit with a world renowned anti-aging and men's health doctor cost me $200 and a r.t. plane ticket to Michigan. Testosterone is about $75/month, blood work once a year might add up to a few hundred bucks or less depending on your plan.

Robbie, you can get your meds legally with a prescription from a doctor for a very reasonable price. No need to go black market.

Oh I know. I went to a doctor back about 5 years ago and was prescribed everything then. Then I found out that the U.S. is one of the only countries in the world where testosterone and hgh are illegal. Most places you can buy it over the counter (I do so everytime I'm in Mexico) like aspirin.

Then I found out that I can just get it from peeps in Europe. They just walk into a drugstore and buy it. No prescriptions needed. They double the cost and ship it to me. :)

And with them doubling the cost that they pay over the counter, it's still about 1/5th the price that the pharmaceutical companies charge you for getting it here with your prescription.

Just more of our govt. holding hands with lobbyists at work. Why do you think they made testosterone a controlled substance 20 years ago? There's gold in them hills that's why! LOL!

It is kinda strange to realize that a man from his teenage years to up about late 30's can walk around with tons of testosterone being produced in his body. But if a guy POSSESSES a vial of testosterone....then he it's just like having a pound of heroin :(

great post Robbie, that is the sad thing that is missed by people, how the government is eroding our freedoms all the time and the ones that are benefitting are huge drug companies

there is no reason for hgh to be expensive, and the government still tries to demonize it and harrass doctors that prescribe it and testosterone

the whole steroid bullshit that the government has pulled with the congress bs on baseball is all just another smokescreen and a huge waste of taxpayers money

here is a GREAT blog that documents all the stupidity and the lies and bullshit that is going on in the steroid and hgh world by the government and regulators, it is a must read for anyone that wants to know the truth and not the bullshit that the media usually reports: http://www.mesomorphosis.com/blog/

here is just one example of how a doctor that believes strongly in using HGH to treat some medical conditions has been stifled due to the government's ridiculous policies:

Hgh off label use remains illegal

Is this a cycle or HRT? If you're on permanent HRT you wouldn't need a PCT (since there is no post cycle).

Good luck, Jim Gunn and I have the same doctor, in MI - John Crisler. He is a top doc in his field and his prices are well worth his services.

Keep an eye on how you feel, that is one of the most important aspects of your regimine. Don't just listen to a doctor because he says "everything is within a normal range". You could be under or over sensitive to anything, so find the sweet spot with what makes YOU feel good and stays within range of course :)

Here's to a better quality of life! You will definitely notice the difference, even without the HGH.

I'm not saying to stick a needle in you, or to even visit a doctor regarding this stuff. But try to humbly approach this subject and do a little digging. Don't let the hack clinics out there give you the wrong idea about this type of treatment.

It may not be for you, but it may very well be (at some point in your life). To each his own! :thumbsup

I'd just like to say to Robbie..
It sounds like CM had Insulin Resistance or even PCOS probably too.. (from watching the vids and seeing how she holds her weight)... I have the same problem but am in my early 20s... and I've probably spent about 20k in the last year just battling my testosterone being TOO high and fucking up everything..

But the one thing that gets it all into check.. is making sure I'm taking my proper birth control.. mixed with low carb.. and taking Metformin and Aldactone.. to eat any excess bad testosterone created...

And I feel her pain about regular doctors not understanding... I finally had to go to an Endo who specialized in PCOS... to get all my hormones under control.. and even now, if I put carbs back into my diet.. or don't keep my hormones straight.. or forget to take the pills.. the weight can come RIGHT back in almost no time..

And. on a side note..
Hubby doesn't produce testosterone... he's 44 now.. looks 25.. because he takes Androderm everyday of his life... so for those of you worrying about halting your organic production and being stuck on testosterone your whole life.. it's not that bad of a deal... Most of the people hubby went to school with WISH they looked as young as him... now if I could only get him into the gym working out with me.. we'd be golden. :)

does the androderm give him the sex drive of when he was 25, or just normal for 44?

Oh come one Robbie, how can that be right? $65 or $75/month is normal for a month's tube of gel testosterone. So with your math 1/5th of $75 is $15, and that is the doubled price. That means that your friends pick it up in Europe for less than $7 and double the price for you and ship it to you overseas too?

in his defence, he may have been quoted some marked up prices here, as it is common for many doctors and rejuv clinics to supply the drugs at a high price as part of their overall charges with monthly doctor fees or whatever

if you add it all up, if he was to self prescribe and medicate, I think it is completely possible that his total costs may come in at 1/5th of the price

there are even blood testing clinics hooked up with online centers that you can order your own blood tests if you want, the life extension foundation has a bunch www.lef.org

No, not using the gel. It's not nearly as effective as injections.
you can get 20 10 IU vials of HGH for $500

you can get a 1 ampule of testosterone for $8 an amp. According to what you buy you will be getting almost a cc and a half of 250mg/ml of test in that one dose. Intramuscular and very effective. Using one a week that would under $500 for a years worth of test.

edit: those are black market prices

second edit: I bought some test over the counter at the drugstore of the airport in cancun for $3 an ampule

i'm doing a customized version of that, yes. using weights instead of the calisthenics.
i've been doing weight training only for a little over 3 months now and we ramped up with this new workout a little over a week ago, so the plyo, kenpo, cardio and yoga are new to me. so far it's a major increase in exercise and a serious ass kicker, esp. the plyo and the yoga. my appetite is throught the roof, but i find myself craving the good foods, lot's of vegetables and salmon, etc. even looking forward to and devouring salad!

are you using it? how's that working out for you?

other than for the few who the gel simply does not work for (that 10%) my understanding is the problem with the gel being ineffective is due to not being applied properly, either not rubbed in vigoursly enough or rinsed off or missing a dosage.

unless the person is looking for cycle type results, and not just hrt, in which case the injections would for sure be more effective

but as for hrt even, for sure there is a difference in the way the drugs are metabolized though, gel tends to create more dht and less estrogen, injections vice versa

never EVER, have I heard of topical being effective. But, then again once you hit 35-ish years old your test levels drop at a faster rate each year..So maybe, just maybe itll work for him. Younger guys and girls(and butch) will not see/feel a difference. Maybe an irritated, sometimes itching sensation on your inner leg because of the alcohol. bleh my :2 cents:

Yeah, but I'm not cycling...just using it to keep my levels good. And when I first tried testosterone 8 years ago, the doctor told me to use injections. But I cried and whined about it because I was scared of needles. So for a year I used the cream and then when it was released as a gel (Androgel) I used it.

But every bodybuilder type that I knew at the gym was calling me a pussy and told me flat out that if you injected directly into the glute you would see a huge difference.

At that point I went back to the doc and he told me I would be much happier with it injected. He gave me my first one there, and he was right! Didn't hurt and within a few weeks I was feeling like a new man. I'm glad I got over my fear of needles.

And I'll tell you something else...my neck and both arms were badly broken in an auto accident in 2002. I was in ICU for a month and when I finally woke up I was so physically destroyed it wasn't even funny. The doctors told me I might not be able to walk again and I definitely would NEVER play guitar again.

The accident was on May 12, I got out of the hospital with a hard neck brace and two full length arm casts the first week of June. I met up with my drug dealer the day afterwards and got 4 10 ml vials of tesosterone.

I was back in the gym the day the armcasts came off (neck still in a brace) I never went to a physical therapist...I did it all myself in the gym.

And the first week of August I was back onstage playing guitar in a rock band.

Proper levels of testosterone + a strong will can perform miracles. :thumbsup

When you say he looks 25, are you talking face? If so, that is remarkable.

Facial aging is caused by loss of collagen and elastin under the skin.

Can testosterone or HGH really reverse this or do you think his appearance is more about genetics?
