Many people have complained in the contest threads about users exceeding 100 posts. ah christ, I think in all my time at GFY i've gone into a contest thread once or twice. If memory serves, I've never posted in one, though. However......void any opinion I may have on this situation because it like this: i'm not here for contests, i dont fucking care about contests, and its pretty fucking easy for me to ignore contests.

I've never once seen a "what a fucking great contest so and so had" thread, I've seen a few "I didnt get my prize" threads though.

If I had my way GFY wouldn't do away with the contests, GFY would do away with the contest whores, the obvious surfers, and the motherfuckers who bring all the drama here. That includes the known scammers and the dipshits who managed to get banned for being outright assholes. Fuck post bots too.

Yeah, GFY has laid out rules for contests and those rules more or less get ignored like the Bush administration ignored the Bill of Rights, but I really have to be honest in saying the only people I EVER see bitching about contests are the people who come here only for the contests.

Let be honest, GFY sux as webmaster board, many boards outside there are much better resources. GFY is the Jerry Springer under the adult webmaster boards, and we love GFY for just that.

You may have missed Eric's thread about new rules. Lots of people talked about this issue but no one else posted it.

FYI: people have even admitted they are surfers in those threads and many are. Why do they post in the contests? Well a lot are from Serbia and the $500 to $2k some of them win a week they do pretty well! :1orglaugh

Well............as a webmaster board, yeah. its kinda gotten off track. When I first found this place it was so packed with seriousness that i was scared to even join until I knew that I at least knew my shit. I found GFY 4 or 5 years ago, and this place has changed so much in that time it amazes me.

Nothing of relevance will ever be done about the contest threads just like nothing of relevance will ever be done about personal attacks. Both of these things bring traffic to the board that thats what GFY needs in order to keep the ad revenue coming in. I'm not hate'n...I'm just say'n. For a sponsor to run a contest they MUST be a top banner advertiser. Most sponsors mention the 100 posts rule in the first post so that there is no abuse of that rule. If one sponsor is getting more exposure because people are breaking that rule ...... how is that fair to all the other sponsors who run a contest and make sure people don't break the 100 post limit, and disqualify them if they do!
