if you had that disease or any other disease you wouldn't be laughing I guarantee it!

I don't see anything funny in those images you put up.

Grow up.

2MuchMark 07-27-2009 12:38 PM

Bad Taste? Yes.
Funny? Yes.

We can laugh at the old, young, rich, poor, sick, blessed, depraved, twisted, fortunate, unfortunate. Remember the Nasa Jokes? Michael Jackson Jokes are starting to come around.

The worst most sick jokes are on South Park. It's still popular and I still laugh my head off.

Bad taste? Crude? Offensive? YES! Funny? Yes. Sorry, but yes.

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-27-2009 12:39 PM

I loved MJF, all his shit is some of my favorite... I laughed.. why? Because if a disabled person isn't mad about it, why the fuck are you cry babies so mad about it?

It's like those mentally handicapped people who started in The Ringer, and everyone had a stink about it saying it's distasteful, yet those same mentally challenged people told everyone to shut up, they had fun doing the film and will do it again any day...

Just because you aren't disabled, and feel it's your duty to be ever so kind and gentle to them, doesn't mean they don't like to laugh at their own expenses every once and a while.

P.S. ASM where you at? I haven't seen you around, hope you're ok.

That reminds me of a documentary I saw years ago about how when people campaigned against the employment of side show "freaks" and said that they were being exploited they actually ended up taking away many of their livelihoods.

I grew up with my grandma taking care of disabled people, and I was always over at her house... They are cool people and wanna fit in just like anyone else... I had a few tell me not to see them disabled, one was cracking off jokes about his disability just like normal people do about whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, whatever...

I remember one day getting out of my car to run into a convenience store. As I was walking over I almost tripped over a parking divider. There was a man standing out front and said be careful. I replied joking around that it was my first day with new feet looked up and realized the guy only had one leg. I guess my face showed how much of an ass I felt for saying that and he just laughed. I just mumbled I was sorry and he told me not to be that it was funny. Still felt like an ass.

Smiley 07-27-2009 01:42 PM

did i find it funny...not really...not slamming the thread but ive seen, heard better...
all you fist shakers...how many of you were telling MJ jokes mins after TMZ annouced his death...dont be hypocritical...

comedians (even MJF) have in the past and will continue (god willing) to poke fun at all people....midget used to be funny until a TALL person was offended, now we call them "little people"...which i find more offensive..(which a tall person came up with)...how about "vertically challenged"....come on people, when did we stop laughing at ourselves.... did you laugh at Mel Brooks for Blazing Saddles?? shame on you, they said the N word, called people Jews too....(i personally laugh at all of Mels movies)....get off your high horses and realizes that maybe yes, this was in poor taste, but to jump on the high horses and say this is wrong...that means you find nothing funny...how about Anna Nicole Smith and her drug use, Paris Hilton and her snatch....Octomom and her huge snatch, huge snatch, huge snatch (echo, echo, echo)....

Many many many people with problems DO laugh at jokes poking fun at them...i can even say that i bet Jay Leno or David Letterman or Bill Maher or some other famous comedian out there made a MJF & shaking joke in the past....and you know what....people LAUGHED and then went..."ooooooh"....why, because they found the humor in it and then realized OMG i laughed at his hardship...but damn that was funny (maybe not this particular one)...but it makes them feel part of the group and not some "omg, shun your eyes Frankensteins"

People, we have got to continue to laugh at ourselves otherwise the tight asses will win and everything will offend someone and we will hate it....

List of things that are fucking funny but not so PC...(which PC is the worst thing to happen to comedy...if its done in rage not in humor)...

Family Guy
South Park
The Simpsons
GRAN TORINO....
Mel Brooks
Mad Magazine
Hustler (cartoons)
Playboy (cartoons)
and the list can go on....

I hope i never have to live in a world were people get so offended that they cant look past the handicap and see there is a real person in there that maybe laughing....any one ever laugh at a good Stephen Hawking joke....

<steps down>

Not funny.

I'm looking forward to the day when stem cell research catches up from all the time lost during the Bush administration's ban on it. Maybe then there will be a cure for Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, and other diseases that affect so many of our loved ones... and even some of us here on the board.

Titan 07-27-2009 04:56 PM

sorry didn't get it

DefaultMan 07-27-2009 05:18 PM

I get it but it wasn't funny. You fail.

421Fill 07-27-2009 05:34 PM

after recently watching Michael J. Fox's, incurable optimist show, he didn't strike me as the type of guy to be offended by the jokes. He seems like an awesome dude in that show, and I hope they do find a cure with stem cell research soon.

It just wasn't funny. Not in a *OMG how can you laugh at someone's misfortune* kind of way, just the jokes are poor and not funny. Try again..

Whether it's funny or not is is completely subjective. Read what people were writing before I posted what you quoted. They weren't saying it wasn't funny, they were pulling out the fake outrage card. If you watch Family Guy and don't find it funny because you think the writing is lame or the jokes are kind of hack, then that is one thing. But if you watch Family Guy and don't find it funny because you find the humor offensive, then you are someone I would never want to have a beer with. So you try again...

That's the thing.

Nobody here is making fun of MJF or disabled people. We're laughing at the JOKE, not the poor person struck with this terrible disease. Of Course everyone loves the guy and wishes that a cure can be found (via stem cells or other ways). No one here would go up to MJF, point and laugh.

The Joke itself, not MJF, is what is funny. For example:

"Hey what happens when "MJF hugs an apple tree? All the apples fall off" is not a funny joke. It's just plain boring.

But am image or illustration of "MJF + Apple Trees = Apples on ground", is funny. (The etcha-a-sketch one is even better). It's the same joke of course, just told in a more creative way. It's a still image of MJF, not a video of him with a tremor, so it forces you the viewer to consider it first as a puzzle. Then when you "get it", you may laugh, and then feel guilty for laughing, and then laugh even more.

*snicker*.

It helps with the whole fitting in the category of still being somewhat normal.

I agree with that. I'm a disabled person (spastic paraplegia) and I make jokes about myself all the time and don't care if other people do the same. Of course, if they are being complete pricks that's different, but in life you have to have a sense of humor or you will live a pretty miserable life.

Most normal people would not laugh at what he posted.

cam_girls 05-25-2011 10:23 PM

clever jokes!

Better than putting disabled people in the corner and forgetting about them.

What better than to laugh about it?

The guys running across the finish line and "OK YOU WON BUT YOURE STILL DISABLED"

THAT JOKE is demeaning! Not these. Better to be in your face and include all people in life.

A man in a wheelchair meets a beautiful woman on a beach and says to her ... "i've never been hugged before"... feeling sorry for him she hugs him

the man then says "and ive never been kissed before" ... so again the woman feels sorry for him and kisses him...

The man thinks to himself he could take full advantage of the womans kindness and says "i've never been fucked before".

On hearing this the woman tips him out of his wheelchair into the fast approaching tide and says ..."YOU ARE NOW!!!"

Sid70 05-26-2011 05:24 AM
