He doesn't.

If things work out his way then the system is great, if he loses then the system sucks.

</end logic>

that's what i don't get, if someone is trying to raise the price just to get someone else to pay more, they seriously risk becoming the high bidder. that's why i was asking, guess that's why they didn't answer the question.

You are a fucking retard troll. But most of us already knew that.

That's for reinforcing it with almost every post you make.

Bravo.

Since when has eBAY been about 'fair'? :error

Have never bidded on a single item if its not being sold with a buy it now will look elsewhere. Whats the point of waiting 7 days to save probably only a few dollars. Although usually the items people bid on end up just as expensive as those with a bin.

Yeah, I have noticed that as well wiht the BUY IT NOW. Especially on golf gear.

I bid early on most auctions (Rarely last minute). If I see something I want I simply bid the max I would pay for the item and forget about it until the auction is over. The last minute back and forth turns more into a game and you can end up paying more then you wanted for the item just to "beat" the other bidders.

I don't worry about someone trying to run me up to my max out of spite. I am already prepared to pay my max and if they go over they can have the item.

if you bid in the last few seconds doesn't ebay extend the action to let others react?

TisMe 02-09-2009 12:31 PM

I snipe manually with good success and have bought and sold multiple vehicles on ebay. Some good deals around now for moderately priced (teens to mid 30s) collector / classic cars.

Had a class A motorhome get within $2k of my reserve, 5 minutes after the auction ended got a call from a bidder and sold it for $10k over my reserve. Nice as no seller fees to pay on that one.

New feedback system has limited my selling as it's so heavily weighted in favor of buyers with no controls at all.

Rather sell them locally or at auctions than deal with the feedback extortionists, idiots and crooks.

that being said, sometimes if there's something i really want, i'll just drop a maximum bid and leave it. if anyone outbids my max, oh well...

any time I sell something on ebay I always have friends go in and bump up the bids for me, and if they accidentally bump it up past the max bid of the highest bidder I just send a "second chance offer" to the highest bidder

ebay really has made it easy to be dishonest

HorseShit 02-09-2009 05:22 PM

I have 100% positive feedback on my account that is now 9 years old, I run a tight ship when I do business on there
