Wow, nobody mentioned Arrested Development yet. One of the funniest sitcoms ever.

Mostly because they still had 3 kickass seasons.

Action with Jay Mohr was a great one too. Only 1 season.

if they bring it back as a series the series should be good, they made significant changes to the cast of characters, and promoted one of them to be the new leader (assigner of reaps).

They changed characters around a little bit in the past with bringing in the character of Daisy after the first woman left. The premise of the show allows for new characters in and out. They just need to keep George and Mason for me :)

And the Happy Time woman who we are enjoying in Reaper too.

Chr0makey 02-10-2009 03:43 PM

I really liked Studio 60 and Big Shots

And yeah - Firefly - awesome show, Serenity was an awesome movie.. studios suck sometimes..

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Kaylee, what in the sphincter of hell are you playing at? We got the primary buffer panel coming right...
Kaylee Frye: Everything's shiny, Cap'n. Not to fret.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: You told me those entry couplings would hold for another week!
Kaylee Frye: That was six months ago, Cap'n.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: My ship don't crash. If she crashes, you crashed her.

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [on the ship's intercom] This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then - explode.

yeah, turned me off too

the movie really is missing something overall, and after investigating a bit I found out it wasn't even the same head writer

BlackCrayon 02-10-2009 04:02 PM

i enjoyed twitch city on cbc. Always been a fan of don mckellars stuff.

gideongallery 02-10-2009 04:13 PM

i am really surprised no one mentioned veronica mars.
Maybe it to much of chick show

For me all time worst cancelation was babylon 5 stuff
that bs ruined the 5th season

crusade looked like it was going to get interesting too, and that got killed.

Brujah 02-10-2009 04:16 PM

What are some good Canadian and UK TV series?

Deadwood was the worst cancellation because of how the set up the next season in the last episode

They said they are going to have two movies that clear up the ending. :winkwink:

Profit is a good show. Did not see it when it was on Fox, but Chiller runs episodes.

Nicky 02-10-2009 05:11 PM

Las Vegas , ok so it did 5 seasons LOL but still!!! :(

spunky99 02-10-2009 05:37 PM

studio 60
arrested development
wonderfalls
dead like me (i knew a couple of people who worked on that show and said that most of the actors fought and didnt get along)
veronica mars (i saw the pitch for the 4th season and she was already in the fbi which was kinda wierd)
jerricho
las vegas (for the girls on the show) :)

femdomdestiny 02-10-2009 05:51 PM

star trek

What about star trek enterprise?I know that there were 4 seasons, but normally,it would be 7.

I came here to say Action, and Profit. Profit is pretty dated from the then-crazy-insane computer graphics, but the storyline is still awesome. Although NewsRadio had 5 seasons, it will never be enough. We still miss you, Phil.

actually that was a reboot pitch, to get it on another network. Failed to get interest at the time. The key was that he didn't have to get a deal quick, because the story would restart some point in the future, new cast, new location. Old cast members would make cameo.

Profit

It was recently released on DVD, with 3 unaired episodes.

ahh... i thought it was kinda wierd to have it skip ahead like that

oh well replaced by reality tv.. much cheaper to make

chodadog 02-10-2009 07:23 PM

Arrested Development
Cracking Up (cancelled mid-season. Show was fucking hilarious)
Freaks and Geeks
Rome
Carnivale
Journeyman

As for Dead Like Me, if you're a fan of the show, avoid the movie. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's the worst movie I've ever seen. I suppose there is one benefit. After watching it, films you had previously only considered 'average' will seem better than ever. Dead Like Me: Life After Death.. It will lower your expectations.

It was intended to be a 5 series saga. There was talk of wrapping it up with a film, but the creator says he has too much material left and feels a movie wouldn't do it justice.

You've got to give Fox credit for how long they ran with Arrested Development. Given the numbers, it's surprising it made it past the first season. They stuck with it 'cause they thought it was something special. A movie is looking more and more likely with every passing week, though.

And if it wasn't for DirecTV, Friday Night Lights wouldn't have made it to a third season.

I'm a huge fan of West Wing, and even tho is by the same producer , with all the witty dialog, the show never impressed me, and the story was boooooooring

Agreed. I wish Hulu would get the full 5 seasons on there, they don't have any on there now :( love that show.

gideongallery 02-10-2009 07:56 PM

does anyone remember the pretender
i really wish they would finish that one off. Even with the movies the cliff hanger ending sucks.

unrecoverable decline in ratings? i heard the last season brought aboard a new writer that really picked up the quality of the show, but it was too late i guess.

a movie could still have been made, perhaps a part one to boost interest in hopes of getting back on tv or a for making a sequel.

enterprise was the merging of two different pitched shows
a time travel show
and a prequel show
if it had been just one or the other it think it would have done really well
the last season they gave up all that time travelling/ enemy from the future/ zindi crap and made it a prequel show.
That is why that last season was so good.

Turf 02-11-2009 07:07 AM

must say that traveler being canceled bummed me out... there was room for so much more there...

More like 2 1/2 seasons, they cut back on the episodes on order so in order to complete the story the last few were VERY busy...

candyflip 02-11-2009 08:51 AM

Another one I liked was Shark.

Those were all good shows. I thought that Journeyman would have been around a lot longer. It was a really good show. Sad that the good shows get cancelled and shit like American Idol is still around. :2 cents:

ultimatebbwdotcom 02-11-2009 12:45 PM

Arrested Development - for sure.

Hopefully they wont fuck up the movie.

brassmonkey 02-11-2009 12:50 PM

Dead Like Me FTW!!!

The Movie will be on DVD NEXT TUESDAY!!!!

I was sent a screener and I was both happy and let down after watching it, I won't give away any spoilers here, it's common knowledge that Rube is not in it and they switched Daisy's, believe it or not I didn't even care too much about all that lol.

Rube was surely missed in the movie however it still worked without him imho

I DO DO DO DO DO DO believe there MAY be a 3rd season in the works... for the simple fact that this show went off the air almost 3 years ago and WHAMO now we get a movie.

Want to know what pissed me off about the movie?

Once it was over, I was reminded that it was over, no waiting a week to see more, no to be continued lol, it was over and I could have watch more and more.

-Loki-

uno 02-11-2009 03:15 PM

Threshold also deserved a full season at least.
