If I had to estimate the amount my boyfriend spent on my gift it would come out to about $125.

I told him not to do anything excessive this year. I even picked out things I wanted and told him "look, we're not millionaires and it's more of the thought that counts...I can find cute reasonably prices items that I'll enjoy probably as much as expensive items."
I picked out a cute silver bracelet with pink Swarovski crystal for $33 on amazon and some books. He also bought me pink tulips (my favorite flower) and a bunch of chocolate and cake from a killer chocolate boutique which we both shared.

And I am perfectly satisfied. :)

Set some financial limits guys!
If your lady friend cares about you she wouldn't want you to go broke either.
I think $100-150 is more than enough, to be honest....amazon has a GREAT selection of cute, quality, and reasonably priced jewelry.

This is just too funny, that is exactly what i got my girl here, Swarovski bracelet and necklace.

And yes limits are great, i just love getting her nice things.

Basic_man 02-15-2009 08:59 AM

About a 100 bucks.. not bad :)

Vexes 02-15-2009 08:59 AM

haha.....
:)
I'm glad I amused you....
why should you spend a ton of money on one day?
I love my $125 worth of gifts! books, cute fun jewelry, books and flowers
How am I going wrong?
I'm just not breaking my boyfriend's bank account by being a gold digger.
I can enjoy a silver bracelet with Swarovski crystal as much as a platinum bracelet
you don't have to spend that much money to have a good V-day
like christmas and all of the rest of the holidays....

Admittedly I have not gone to a restaurant on VD in many years (if ever), but they have a special menu with inflated prices that they pull out once a year?

Sounds like b.s. to me.

FrozenJag 02-15-2009 12:11 PM

About 2 bills.

Dinner, Movie, Alchohol, Hotel Suite.

Fun times though, we enjoyed ourselves. :)

Matyko 02-15-2009 12:35 PM

$400 dinner? Are you guys eating gold plated steaks? Seriously, you don't look cool spending so much money and "bragging" about it.

Admit it, either you cheated on her or she is way out of your league and you fear you'll lose her. So I guess she spent that same kind of money on you (and money she earns on her own)?

I hate restaurants on valentines. Like you said, inflated prices and they line people up like cattle in and out all night long.

Means we buy the cow as a calf, have it raised and butchered. It is through a co-op. We do both beef and pork that way for the most part.

absolutely nothing, my wife and I decided long ago we wouldn't celebrate "fake" holidays

Sometimes you gotta treat yourself and your significant other for all the hard work....

Oysters, Grilled Shrimp, Sea Bass, Award winning CrabCake, Bottle of Champagne and some chocolate strawberries.

I was not bragging, just answered the question.

Aside from the Champagne perhaps (we mostly just do sparkling wine instead), that does not seem like no 400 dinner. Did you end up dropping like 35 or so per person per course?

VeriSexy 02-15-2009 05:08 PM

A goose egg.

noKru 02-15-2009 05:11 PM

around 15$ and few hours of my time. Everyone happy and satisfied

HookUPcom 02-15-2009 05:11 PM

No, I'm not actually. Just stupid. But yes they do have inflated prices special menus that are much more limited than the rest of the year. I'm sure not every place does this but several I have been to do.

I wonder how much it actually costs the restaurant. Sounds nice though I don't care for seafood. I couldn't fathom spending that much on a meal no matter how good it was. But hey, I'm not a filthy rich "player".

No we just like to go out and treat ourselves to good restaurants.
I find it odd that you see something wrong with that, kinda feel sorry for you actually lol.

Loch 02-16-2009 06:57 AM

People a 300-400 $ meal is NOT hard to find if you like a great food experience.
Hell i spent 1k on a meal for 2 about 3 years back;
Although you really don't get much of that in the states unless you go to NY, San fran or city's like that.

And it has nada to do with throwing money away....."or being a high roller for spending 400 bucks on a meal, what a retard remark"

Now i don't gamble, to me that's just fucking stupid, then again some people would say otherwise.

Marcus Aurelius 02-16-2009 07:25 AM

I spent around $700 or so. Rented a nice limo for us, took her to dinner in ATL, bought her a new dress, candy, flowers, etc.. we had alot of fun.

Your poop must be pretty valuable. I had a $30 meal and enjoyed it very much. I guess we can agree on one thing, we both feel sorry for each other. Btw, you are paying to be at the place you went to, not the food.

jscott 02-16-2009 08:55 AM

I spent approx $300 at the nightclub getting blacked out, woke up in some bushes outside the club with mosquito bites all over me :helpme:

Vicious_B 02-16-2009 08:56 AM

It was one of my friends Birthday so we hit the bar. Probably spent around $100 all together for both of us and buying the birthday boy shots. Had a great time!
