There is one thing that really bugs me here and that's there are several big companies that are huge scammers and have had thread after thread about their scamming here and people don't give a shit and keep pushing them because they pay 50 pps.

Who gives a shit about a troll or 2.

It depends on the drama. I comment on a lot of things and do business here. Idiots can be ignored but sometimes that have to be replied to, just to say you did something.

The business has changed and boards have to change with them. The days of doing business or even getting business from 100s of newbies are over, cue all those making coin from or by being a newbie. So it's people in the business with experience and skills talking to each other that matter.

On the other hand driving up the traffic with loads of inane posts from idiots who think they count is not a good strategy. Traffic is no longer king, it's what that traffic is and and spends that matters.

he changed the banning rules just so this would happen.. drama brings page views, i can't blame him... does it degrade the whole draw of 'gfy'? certainly. is 'gfy's reputation already pretty lowly degraded? yes. I see it is a 'ppl trash on the quality of business to be had from GFYr's already, may as well let the trolls back in, get ppl involved, pageviews go up, etc'

who knows.. either way, it's his board, if he wants to add some spice, more power.. i just expanded my vbf plugins Ignore list.

The Quality of Drama was good and helpful before the unbannings.
Now its just constant nonsensical troll attacks IE; Fake drama...

Lets see how it pans out, is it good for business? I wish there was a little bit more care about the industry as a whole on GFY Industry wise speaking. Letting Thieves and Con artists back in and guys that just attack anyone they can is not very constructive to our community.

Face it everyone in the biz comes here. THere should be a little more responsibility and respect for hard working people that contribute here.

Skip the bullshit, there is still plenty of business done on this board. In the last week I have hired a freelancer and a designer off posting on this board.

I have a feeling lots of people would post here even if they weren't in this industry, only for the 'entertainment' value. Don't really understand it too be honest, there's much better entertainment in the real world than watching troll wars on a forum.

Especially for people past their teens or early 20's...

you have to have pretty thin skin or some other issues if you get upset about posts on an internet forum, especially if they dont even involve you..

i know the internets is serious business, but come on...

whenever i need or want something here, i make a post and put my email addy or icq in..

I agree it is frustrating, but there is still business to be done here once you wade through the bullshit. That said, it does make me laugh that it is always the same people bitching about the same shit here week after week. we all know who the culprits are, and just because we aren't in those threads doesn't mean that lots of us are not laughing at them (and by them I mean the idiots who are starting those threads and keeping them alive)

That said, I use boards, any board, for business, and I enjoy GFY for bullshitting with friends I have met at shows. Buying stuff, looking for coders, designers, getting feedback on ideas, etc.. As well keeping up with the happenings, and whatever. It also provides a social outlet when taking a break from work, or a moment of levity via funny pictures, or funnies.

I do not come to GFY to read the dramas, and try and stay out of them.

While the sig whores may disagree, for me, there is no money in fighting on message boards with keyboard warriors and strangers I'll never meet. Bannings, and bullshit drama do not pay the bills. So as the cliche goes, 'if it doesn't make dollars, it doesn't make sense'.

Firstly before you even think of everyone being banned like you desire take a look at this

Then look at who is posting in a lot of these threads, a lot of the people who make money and carry ads here are posting in these threads. Views help everything and everyone.

As it has been posted before there are other boards out there based on no drama and just doing business. And other no drama boards have started and fully failed.

I can also fully say that when the doors were opened that business has for sure got a lot better.

I would pay upwards of $100 a month to have access to an ALL business board. If this place was moderated by $12 an hour staff and only business was discussed. I'd PAY for that.

I cant fully agree, I've met some cool people and done some good business here. But I know where your coming from. The mass unbanning was......bad, IMO.......:error
