I've seen adult sites using paypal... until they get caught.

We saw a competitive site using paypal to collect advertising payments, so we called paypal and asked what was up. They told us they would be happy to process our advertising payments for us, as long as it wasn't a porn site membership. We asked to speak to a supervisor who told us the same thing. We had our Director of Operations call the next week to verify everything was cool.

We got very happy and set everything up and notified our advertisers. A week into using Paypal they closed our account and notified us that we were not permitted to use Paypal according to their TOS.

Have fun dealing with that.

Just got off the phone with paypal, they said their terms of use have not changed! They said paypal cannot be used as a processor for digital pornographic content.

I was on hold for 25 minutes BTW, and transferred to someone else. I kind of figured this since paypal allows account holders to use AMEX.

Been through a very similar thing NikKay. Spoke to numerous people several times about what I wanted to do. They had full access to everything and reviewed it and said it was okay to process. Set things up to process with it and 2 weeks later they canned it ans said it was against TOS :)

Anyone else have anything weird happen when they clicked on that paysite tour http://www.realpornstudio.com. It hung up for about 15 seconds then my browser locked up, Adobe reader tried to load for some reason and there were two errors in my event viewer regarding the registry.

Just called Paypal and video taped the call and told them i was recording it and the first person i spoke to said yes they do adult now and had change there policy a couple months ago and i asked to speak to a supervisor and the supervisor put me on hold for about 20 min and then came back on the phone saying no they dont due to the tos. basically the guy just read what it said on the site. I asked him why i was lied to and why someone knowing my site was adult would set it up for me and tell me it was ok and he had no answer. He told me to contact the SUP department of paypal so i did and they are suppose to call me back.
