Sorry to hear that Michael - I once sent $14.000 to a person instead of $1,400 and the only way I could get it back was for him to wire it back to me which he luckily did.

The bank on this end says that there is nothing that can be done, and they have contacted the bank on the other hand on my behalf, and they say that unless the other party initiates a return of funds, there is nothing that can be done.


When I found out this morning that they had yet again not come through with the promise to send the money last week I just felt like such an ass.... very very gumpy!

If a Bank made the same mistake, they would have charged the recipient with theft by now Michael, hiring a lawyer and persuing the matter would be worth your while:2 cents:

A bank has more credibility than an individual wiring someone money and than saying it was done by mistake. There's a big difference.

All true, however my US bank does not have any hold over the offshore bank, (which is in Russia btw), which is not interested in co-operating. If the recipient says that the money is rightfully theirs and they will not send it back, the offshore bank merely passes that info to the US bank and shrugs it's shoulders.

I'd go with outing them on a public board and any place they may post for the initial 4k ripoff and then "stealing" the 25k you sent them. Making a site and stealing their serps explaining how they operate wouldn't hurt either.

if you were going to get someone to hassle him you need to shutup and just do it
now you're said it on a board you are not going to do it so I would stop saying things and get a lawyer

small claims only covers up to around £10,000 I don't even think thats applicable

the company name sounds like a made up name because uk companies are usualy LTD not INC so you are going to have to file a civil suit against the individual, its going to cost money to hire a lawyer to do this

Regarding the law you are shit out of luck, I wired $7k wrong once and was lucky to catch the mistake within 24 hours. After that, the money really is theirs in legal terms until you find a way to claim them back.

Maybe something about them not delivering what you ordered and sue them for that? That scenario would not work directly but something like that.
