Our merchants and processors are all still getting paid on time, nothing was missed. I have contacted the banks on both ends and have been told that there is nothing that can be done.

You guys apparently took this the wrong way. I wasn't talking about anything physical, or illegal. I was talking about trying to find some way to at least be annoying to these fuckers. In the end I will probably have to go to their offices the next time I'm over there and make a stink, but in the meantime I was looking for suggestions for ways to be a pain in their asses.

That is actually the same thing I am wondering.

Methinks there is more to this story than what is being told.

I'm guilty of being a bad mood this morning.

RadicalSights 03-11-2009 09:34 AM

Sorry to say but beyond hiring a Russian hit man ... you're pretty much screwed out of 25k if they don't return it.

I just went back and read the post. No, I"M NOT that person. I have never had a female employee, (my wife Vino works with me at the shows sometimes, that's it.), let alone pretended to be someone else on an IM EVER. Seriously, you have the wrong guy.

Sorry to hear that Michael - I once sent $14.000 to a person instead of $1,400 and the only way I could get it back was for him to wire it back to me which he luckily did.

What does your bank say?

SeanLEE 03-11-2009 09:51 AM

Im from Miami-

People from Miami dont make mistakes like this-

I dont believe you!

Thanks Oystein,

The bank on this end says that there is nothing that can be done, and they have contacted the bank on the other hand on my behalf, and they say that unless the other party initiates a return of funds, there is nothing that can be done.

When I found out this morning that they had yet again not come through with the promise to send the money last week I just felt like such an ass.... very very gumpy!

If a Bank made the same mistake, they would have charged the recipient with theft by now Michael, hiring a lawyer and persuing the matter would be worth your while:2 cents:

Iron Fist 03-11-2009 10:23 AM

You run a financial services website. That is awesome.

A bank has more credibility than an individual wiring someone money and than saying it was done by mistake. There's a big difference.

WarChild 03-11-2009 10:27 AM

$5000 cash + expenses and I will take care of it with extreme prejudice.

they also are a law onto themselfes. If it happened to them, even after all this time, they would be down like a ton of bricks on the recipients:2 cents:

All true, however my US bank does not have any hold over the offshore bank, (which is in Russia btw), which is not interested in co-operating. If the recipient says that the money is rightfully theirs and they will not send it back, the offshore bank merely passes that info to the US bank and shrugs it's shoulders.

LiveDose 03-11-2009 10:37 AM

I would say a first step would be to out the company if this is true.

What can I say? You're right. Like I said, I feel like an ass...

But even very large international banks make errors, and none of my merchants or processors have had their payments missed from this.

:2 cents:

candyflip 03-11-2009 10:42 AM

Now you're telling us that you sent this money to Russia? :1orglaugh
