i really dont mean to piss in the pool here - but doesn't this defeat the purpose of twitter? Or is the thread basically stating that twitter is useless outside of another way to get your link out there?

If its about marketing - why not use www.digg.com which actually makes since - find out if your site, program, etc is actually dug by the world. Likewise Digg is naturally gonna have more power than Twitter.
