US has always supported Turkey's bid into EU. Thats been the stated policity for the last 30 or so years
What makes this whole thing different now. Is powers that be in the EU when Turkey had a secular government had always rejected the idea of turkey in the EU.
and now that Turkey has an Islamic gov is considering accepting Turkey.
I know Europeans are all backwards. but this has nothing to do with Obama.

Bush, Clinton, Raegon all supported Turkeys bid for EU.
Turkey has always been one of the closest US allays in Nato and i believe even provided troops for either Korean war or the Viet Nam wars.

Not only Greeks. France also will never let this happen because of the Armenian genocide. For those who forgot the history. Turkey slaughtered about a million of Armenians almost 100 years ago, and only military help from Russia has stopped that massacre. Right now even a denial of Armenian genocide is considered as a crime according to French law. This is why France will never allow Turkey to be a part of EU.

So yes, this will never happen.

Someday, you guys will all eat your words. Turkey won't be let in out of desire, it will be let in because of necessity. I also believe it wont be for at least another 5 - 15 years, but it will happen. Crazier things have happened, look around, change is abound in the world.

If i would have told you 20 years ago there would be a black president in the usa I would be tarred and feathered.
