I'm glad it did for two reasons: 1) it allowed us to eventually get to a meaningful discussion regarding what is and is not important to this space, and 2) it has given me at least 7 open laughs at that post, (and at myself) over the last two days.

Funny is good Porndotnet no doubt about it!

You gotta be fuckin' kidding me. In 24 hours not one reply.

I watch affiliates posting on this board that they are not making enough money. I watch folks on this board complaining that this program or that program suck, they are lowering payouts, they don't return my calls etc. And yet, not one reply to an honest request to make a deal, with an Industry standard like Max Cash.

So every affiliate out there is either 1) already working with Max Cash and getting paid exactly what they want to get paid or, 2) completely happy where they are with every sponsor program they work with. 3) Too stupid to realize a good thing when they see it. 4) Believing that the amount of posts on this board equates to position in the Industry.

I choose #3.

Let me say however as a 12 year member of this community: That's awesome! It actually makes me genuinely happy to know that each member of the affiliate community is completely content where they are, what they are making, and how large their marketshare is. Next to Disney land this must be the happiest fucking place on earth.

I haven't posted on this board very often in the time I have been in this space because I have said that it is more about "nice tits" and "you suck" instead of actual business.

I sat on a panel in Phoenix with a title that paraphrasing equated to: "is the affiliate model dead?" If you are an affiliate that should scare the hell out of you. Keep your eye out for panels like this at shows coming up, because if they continue the model will be dead. But you don't have to worry about adapting, don't worry about being creative or clever, or hustling, cause there are plenty of jobs out there right now where you can work your own hours from where ever you want and make 5 figures a month on-line. Easy.

I choose #3.

Here is a solid program whose has a reputation for always paying webmasters, in lean times and in times of plenty, who has paid webmasters more money than any other program in our space, genuinly seeking out affiliates to make individual deals with them; and not one fucking inquiry.

It is not because Max Cash is not a 14 year program with a great history.

It is not because we are not willing to pay out based on what you send.

It is not because we are converting better during this "downturn" than we have in years.

No, I choose #3. You may honestly be too stupid to realize a good thing when you see it. By the way a bit of good news: it is a proven fact, that bitching about other programs and their payouts and bitchin about how bad the economy is and bitching that you are not getting paid what you deserve is, in fact, a proven way to increase your income. You should be proud of your efforts; you are on your way.

Good on ya. Best of luck in your new endeavours.

Go fuck yourself.

You sure you wanna stick with the thought process that a sign up date at GFY has any reference to how long someone's been in the biz? :winkwink:

Naw your right.

I have never spent any time on the boards. I started in 1997 processing credit cards and have had and still have several clients as a consultant. You can probably see by my rant the exact reason why I don't post that often. I am blunt. I say what's on my mind, and I usually say it with enthuasium.

I repeat, any webmaster offended...I'm sorry. I like this space, I've been here a long time, and my interest is to see it thrive and grow. I carry that sentiment around on my sleeve.

Maybe some people spent the last 8 years working hard instead of trying to establish 70+ k threads on a message board?

Are you questioning the $500 million + in payouts or pointing out that Johnny's mentioning the poster has a GFY join date of Feb 2009 when Johnny's join date is March 2009?

1 - is true
2 - is actually funny

or did i entirely miss the point?

I believe #1. And yes, I thought #2 was funny as well.

Bash someone for a join date one month older than yours... probably going to come back to you. ;-)

No offense to you or J but ummm redesigning the homepage does not make the content good! And why would any gay program promote you since you never attend any of our events since you let Dzila go... I have never seen one MaxCash person since! You need new content and you need to make a presence! And as always hit me up if you need help or advice I think I have a pretty good ear as to what the gay webmasters want:winkwink:

I'm both:

A member of the community because I assist this space, it's people and the companies that I represent , (and sometimes companies that I do not) to grow and thrive. A member of the business because this is where I make a living and have for a long time. I will happily put my knowledge of billing, or traffic up against anyone's baddog yours included.

The affiliate model I am learning about. Give me the time it will take me to make 100 posts, and I will happily debate you regarding the affiliate model as well. What I really would rather not do is trade posts about who has more posts, who has been on the boards more etc. Potentially a gigantic waste of time. (read: I'm too old for that shit).

Thoughtful conversation---yeah.

Whose post count is higher--no thanks.

The "community" I was referring to, for at least the second time, is GFY. I have not said shit about post counts, and I am always among the first to point out that a low post count does not mean they have not been a member for many years.

You on the other hand have neither. That is ALL I was saying.

Apparently, you expected us to know that when said you were a 12 year member of this community, you did not really mean this [GFY} community.

It will probably be easier to just ignore you than to try and decipher what you mean and who you are trying to insult.

spacedog 04-11-2009 09:19 PM

Yeah, real fucking solid.. Your TOS is nothing but fucking bullshit! Your company accepts traffic from fucking thieves and does NOTHING about it when someone complains to you about trademark and copyright infringement.. Shove it up your ass..

At the very least, it's stirred some intelligent conversation along the way.

Nothing wrong with any of these sites - only thing wrong is that there's no way for YOU to know that unless YOU send traffic.

Like I said above there's nothing wrong or old about our sites. There have been many redesigns in the past year and our sites convert as well AND better than sites in the same categories.

As a matter of fact, Kara’s is converting better today than it was a year ago, six months ago, a month ago! Why? Because of our back end.

On top of that, some affiliates don’t send directly to our sites, but to custom landing pages tied to the join page. There are smart marketers we work with that we customize tours for as well. There are many intelligent ways to send/receive/convert traffic if you put your mind to it ... and we have - and will continue to :2 cents:

Here's the thing: Maxcash is making more money on sites that are converting better than they have a year ago, six months ago even 1 month ago. That truly was all this thread was about. Karas is doing better than that. That is happening because of our backend and our ability to push more customers through the door. That is a simple fact, that was what I was trying to include webmasters in, webmasters I know, and webmasters I don't.

Also, saying things like "Maxcash's 1000 year old sites"... I know what you mean when you say that, it's a slam like we're not relevant. I'll repeat myself from an earlier thread: any changes that need to be made can be, any updates are simple to achieve. But having been around as long as we have means we have experience in good times and in bad times, and instead of slamming Maxcash, which probably won't get you your intended results anyway, it might be smarter to take a look at why a program has survived so long, and is currently thriving while others are bemoaning their fate.

:2 cents:
