And really, they can't wait for him to drop fucking dead so they can smother everyone with pictures from the funeral.... :2 cents:

They should hang a copy of this magazine next to the cigarette display. And on every bill board selling cigarettes. Not 100%, but why not go for a 10% improvement?

Everyone who wears those stupid Blue Tooth ear pieces should get cancer and die. Then the stupid fucks wouldn't be walking through the grocery store looking and sounding like a schizophrenic who has given up on hiding his delusions. Die already.

Puffing on a cigarette is not the most sensible thing to do when you're battling cancer.

But if, as reports suggest, Patrick Swayze has only a few weeks to live, he may think it makes little difference.

The once-athletic star of Dirty Dancing, Ghost, and action films such as Point Break looked gaunt as he dragged on a cigarette while waiting for his private plane.

go smoke another cancer joint.

when you see a person dying you don't show any sympathy or compassion the only thing you can do is lecture him on the internets. pathetic excuse for a human you are sometimes.

i hope your baby's momma isn't getting high while she's pregnant.

he should be taking www.phoenixtears.ca it works!

CDSmith 04-10-2009 08:25 AM

It's interesting, when you look at his life and career and what's written about him he's a shining example of someone living life to the fullest, even until the end. Then in another sense, what with the smoking, he becomes a prime example of what not to do.

He's an oxymoron.

cherrylula 04-10-2009 08:31 AM

did I offend a smoker in here? :1orglaugh

jgabra62 04-10-2009 11:15 AM

If any of you saw his interview on Barbara Walters you would feel so inspired by Patrick Swayze. I think he is such a strong and positive human being that its hard not to feel like the problems that we experience in our day to day living is small potatoes.

Just goes to show that nomatter how perfectly balanced the body is in its homeostasis, that a single simple thing to go wrong, like a single frikken cell forgetting when to stop and die, can have such massive consequences.

Remember that when you're toking on a bong or doing a few lines or even opening up another pack of Marlboros. (general comment not aimed at anyone at all)

not that I'm condoning smoking or anything, but there are so many things that are approved for public consumption that are known carcinogens that it's almost a certainty that most of our generation will eventually get some form of cancer. Fast food burgers have been proven to increase cancer risks, leaded paint and leaded gasoline were still being used in the US some fifty years after they were banned in Europe (there are still enough lead particles floating around in US cities from decades past that it is still affecting us), and then you get asbestos, radioactive particles from coal-burning power plants (naturally occurring isotopes, but total they still pump out more cancer-causing substances than nuclear power plants.)

Hell, given long enough, background radiation from the Big Bang will eventually give you cancer=(

jmcb420 04-10-2009 12:52 PM

Wow, that dosen't even look like him. I've watched people go through this before. It wont be long now. In fact, i'm surprised he's made it this long.

gmr324 04-10-2009 01:35 PM

Noone deserves to go through that. They should at least find some other way to sell papers and give the guy some privacy at such a horrendous time.

Kiwigirl 04-10-2009 01:35 PM

Sad story, it sure does make me appreciate what I have though.
Good friends, family, love, life and a fridge full of chocolate.
What more could I ask for? :)

I have a friend in his 30's that found out he had cancer and it doesn't take long to go from being perfectly healthy to being on your death bed, can happen to anyone

I wonder if half the time if it's not the treatment that does them in, more so than the cancer it's self.. Sad to see anyone go out that way.

I had a friend whom had stomach cancer. He went through all the chemo treatments and was told he had about 6 months to live. He ended up going on some natural medicane treatments and the cancer went dormant and he is still alive 10+ years later.

I've read that chemo is an attempt to kill the cancer cells, but it's mostly a hope that the cancer dies before the rest of the body does. How terrible :(

papill0n 04-10-2009 02:57 PM

Terrible terrible shit.

What a way to end your life :( :(

Yeah, chemo is basically toxic chemicals being delivered to your body which are targeted to hit the cancer area. Sometimes the chemo is quite highly targeted, sometimes they are much more general. In any case, they are never perfectly targeted and some tissue will always get hit as a necessary casualty of war.

Chemo is rarely successful on its own - it's quite successful with surgery though, as the surgery gets rid of the mass and the chemo combo hits the trailing cells missed.
