Get content management software that's suitable to your needs. Get AdultSiteCMS now.

My need is for a low cost system to run a small specialised bondage site that I can easily maintain myself. My requirements will be pretty standard for a pay site, with the addition of a Wiki or hierarchical articles section, having the ability to designate content as public or members only. The ability to have an e-shop to sell physical goods would be an advantage. A friend has supposed to be writing something for me in Drupal but this situation has dragged on into years and I can't wait forever for him to find the time.

As I already have used WordPress, AdultSiteCMS sounds as if it might prevent further protracted wheel re-invention.

I asked Claudio of AdultSiteCMS for ref sites that hadn't been customised by his team but he gave me that one was already listed on their site as being an example of customisation. So far, my request for a list of typically required components has been ignored. I'm guessing I need WP itself, AdultSiteCMS, Strongbox but not sure what else might be required apart from a payment processor (Zombaio sounds economical). Problems getting answers pre-sales are not encouraging so I'm wondering if AWiz might be safer?

Any advice to a total newbie to pay sites appreciated. Are you guys using these packages? My concern is that AWiz might be a bit dated and inflexible compared to a WP based solution. OTH, it seems to have a good user base so is hopefully fairly solid. How do they stand up against each other currently?

PornCMS (www.porncms.com) is plug-and-play with several examples of sites using the default template. let me know if you have questions.

regarding physical goods i recommend a 3rd party account with www.inzu.net . their shopping cart is designed to easily integrate into any cms. we will likely add a 3rd party plugin to PornCMS for Inzu in the near future..

I tried it out. It didn't work for me. WP is a powerful CMS, but AdultSiteCMS removed lots of WP features that make it so great to use.

Make sure you get it from them in writing that they are compatible with Strongbox now. They weren't when I tried it out and it was a nightmare. Actually, get Strongbox to check the install even if they say they are. You don't want Strongbox to be disabled!

I use WP for my pay site, but I went a different route. You can email me if you want to know how.

@plsureking To what extent is it user configurable? It looks like the cost of PornPMS rises pretty fast when you need extra functions, also I have unlimited space with my ISP so see no sense in buying it twice.

@miss_bellabellini Thanks, have mailed you.

For all the bumping of this tread, who is actually using AdultSiteCMS? Is it any good?

Aleksandr 07-08-2011 01:14 AM

Looks great.

1. PornCMS is easy to configure on the front-end with some php skills. Backend customizations require a contract with us for the work. It is not open-source. Custom work is pretty cheap and accounts for more than half our business. Most clients have no problem inventing in their own venture to ensure success.

2. I'm not sure how you are seeing that the cost rises pretty fast. We have clearly defined license levels that don't change. You can add 3rd party modules and you can order custom programming. These are pretty basic spending items for any online business.

3. If you want to host the cms on your own server, you need a Lifetime license ($695) and you need to meet the server requirements. Hostgator or similar does not meet those requirements, but many others do. We even offer hosting for Lifetime license holders at $30 a month.

Thanks for the questions :D

EDIT: ps sorry for jacking this thread. someone asked about my software or i wouldn't be bumping it lol
