When I did freelance, more than 50% of the jobs that came to me were partnership deals. I get to be a partner in exchange for all the work I did.
And you know what? Pretty much 100% of them never made a cent, many never launched.

Being a partner in something I put a lot of work into and then sit and HOPE that I make a buck for it at some point..... hell no.

And that's IF the person was completely on the level. But in this industry, to just hit up someone you don't know, take their word that they'll cut you in fairly for life because of the couple months of work you did... is just not smart.

I'm not taking sides either which way in this lover's quarrel... just stating my stance from personal experience on the "work for partner" relationship model.

AGAIN I PAID HIM in full to develop the product. PAID IN FULL. As I will with another programer. However I need the person that develops it to stay on board for updates, customer support etc ALL of which they will be paid to do, plus get a percentage of the player sales.

After the product was finished I started getting interest in others wanting it, talked to Sortie about selling the product, and a chance that it might get licensed by cavecreek and a few other hosts, plus some other programs that were interested in it. He was on board, so I in my spare time have been working on getting things underway. Was ready to do a press release and announce it, recontact sortie about it to do some final finish work and setup a demo, and he accuses me of stealing his code when I haven't sold a thing, and he was getting 50% of the sales, plus other money for support type things and skinning, and he wigs out like a crack head needing a fix even though he has been on board with the idea and I have kept him updated with what was going on while product demand increased.
