I was just "Spunky" on here and then one day in 2002 I told Lensman to 'see sig' and he got all butt-hurt and banned me, so I came back as Mr Pheer.

The other Spunky here isnt me.

I can remember making $2500 a week, just from a page that had 5 xpics banners on it.

LOL, try that shit now...

NaughtyRob 05-27-2009 09:16 PM

I was part time in 1999, helping girls get set up in iFriends... charging them money to get it all set up then a monthly fee to help them with shit. Oh yeah, and then I bought David Lace content and made "sites" on adultcheck. lol

NaughtyRob 05-27-2009 09:22 PM

From 1999 DavidLace.com

"The Model Samples below are displayed with heavy JPEG compression to reduce bandwidth on these pages.
The actual images on our David Lace Cds are Super Sized (1024 x 800 pixels) and have NO JPEG compression.
This will allow you the webmaster to resize or reduce these high quality scans to fit your own needs and gives you
original images large enough to create stunning high-rez graphics, banners etc... "

Robbie 05-27-2009 09:24 PM

David Lace was THE man back in the late 90's for glam stuff. I hadn't thought about him in forever. But back then when I owned Pure Candy Images content company, he was one of the guys that we looked at as setting the bar.

Hey CD! Great to be back. Ya know it's not that much diff today for the affiliate. Same basic deal. Find guys who sell and promote them. Lots of work tho and prob never make the $$$ a good paysite makes. But the lifestyle is fantastic. No other biz has less hassle.

We "lone wolf affiliates" from the 90's with no paysites usually have a couple good domains.

True story I gotta tell.. July 4, 2003 I was watching E! and seen this girl Paris Hilton. hmm she looked pretty fine. I go to whois. The only domains registered to her were parishilton.com and maybe .net

I think what the hell. I buy a couple including parishiltonnude.com

Guy almost immediately emails me and buys it for $1000. It has since been resold I think. I missed the parishiltonvideo domains though. Didn't know. Could of had any of em though. Shows ya, anytime, money may be just waiting for you.

"I shiver but I love this game"

Nice.

I have a similar story, this from 2001, a little site called "bangbus" came onto the scene, and i thought "Hey, I think this will sell, nice hook".... lol. Did 90-100+ signups a month for several months without even trying, just one gallery per day to about 50 TGPs. Rode the rebill train for 5 years and then some.

You're right, still plenty of opportunity around, people just have to know how to find it or otherwise recognize it when it's staring them in the face.

He was the man until he ran into that trouble at his booth at the Vegas show in 2002 or whenever it was....things seemed to go downhill from there.... :1orglaugh

(Although you guys did pretty good too - as you remember I bought from both of you :winkwink: )

What happened to David Lace? I used to buy stuff from him and my one experiment with licensing one set was with him, so I always wondered.

I started, full time, 1996, I think, and went full time in 1997.
Back then, we made each thumbnail one by one. I figured that
was a waste of time, so I got Gary Park to write the first batch
thumbnail software for us. It was all one big happy family, so
tn_to_list and the other stuff we did was all free.
Some of you will remember this old site of mine, which hasn't been
updated in years, so it shows what the biz was like back then:
http://webmastersguide.com/

I was thinking about organizing an old timers conference, focused
on enjoying the weekend and making real business connections between
people who know their shit, as opposed to some of the conferences which
have a bunch of shiny booths with a model a pamphlet. How many of
you would attend something like that in Texas perhaps? I know we have
some old timers in Texas, including several who posted in a thread on
another board recently.

Anyone remember those travelling computer shows and the adult CD's they'd sell? (or maybe you sold?) I have one somewhere. They used to call it "stare ware".

Yep, we marketed and distributed our content on cd's many moons ago.

In fact there's still a retail store in Niagara Falls that distributes our stuff off-the-shelf...we get the occasional sale.

Due 05-28-2009 11:39 AM

I started sometime in the 90s, can't remember when but I do remember I pissed off my mom big time with a huge phone bill from my modem connection when I was living at home :1orglaugh:1orglaugh
Today I'm 30 and moved to my own place when I was 18-19 so must be at least 11-12 years ago since I published my first website

I still have a "so much stareware" cd that I bought at a computer fair in the johnson city ny area, musta been mid 90's or so. After my early programming days when I was working retail, but before my move north. Memories!

Mid 90s is about right.

I think I may still have a few I bought myself (bdsm/fetish) collections on the shelf here in the office. FatNick and Moonlight Enterprises if memory serves.

anarchy 05-28-2009 12:03 PM

Since I met Paul 1997 got into the business, more in 1998.
Paul as you know was shooting long time ago. :cool-smil
We moved to Czech in February 1999 and I would say since then we started on net and very actively I would say since 2000. Paul more than me then.

So that is a long time to be in one job and long way to pension to go, so I guess I will be even longer:winkwink:

Web Lass 05-28-2009 01:04 PM
