in a few months.

Its idiotic to throw that out there, there's too many variables. I've seen you say a few times that "cam traffic pays well". I know affiliates who send 10k hits a day and only make $100-$200/day. Cam traffic is just like other adult traffic, there's good and bad. The majority of cam traffic will be looky loos, those that are just on the site to browse the cams and eat up the bandwidth without paying a dime.

I've rubbed your guys faces in it too long HAHA, didn't know I'd snag so many suckers.

We'll see in 12 months who's earning more, all your $30 per month memberships or
my $5 a minute at CAMGIRLS.

I can't wait to grab it on snapnames for $800 in a year when you can't afford to re-register it and it expires.

I'll be sure to bump this thread in a year when your domain will be still forwarded to another cam site and not your own. Oh, and out of that $5 min, you'll be profiting only about 50 cents.

That's after a year or two of promo, if you know what you're doing...

lagcam 06-10-2009 03:25 PM

I find it hard to believe somebody would shell out $350k on a domain without a definite game plan regardless of how the postings are coming over.

How do we know the guy posting as cam_girls is the actual owner btw?

I'll sell you a site that sends 3000 hits to cam site per day. Only $100k. Your traffic problem is solved :)

cam_girls 06-10-2009 03:37 PM

Do you give every new poster the "don't even try to make an adult website,
it's just too hard" treatment?

For such a tough industry I've never seen a bigger crowd of pussies.

The only companies advertising here are cam sites, that should be a clue, you
naysayers have blinkers on, live sex is the future. And the monopolies (olygopolies)
will be the new telecom giants. Video conferencing will be 90% camgirls, what else?

Unless teleco see how's big the industry is and install video phones into every home,
but that's 50 years away.

That's not what was said. It wasn't too bad of a purchase for someone that either

a) Is happy to remain clueless and bank $30,000 per year while keeping a good domain

or

b) Has a clue or the capacity to get a clue on what to do to increase the value.

You definitely don't have a clue and and if your posts in this thread are serious you don't have the capacity.

Almost everything you've said has been refuted, heck, even the owner of AWE said your numbers were wrong. Please stop with all of this nonsense about live sex and cams being the future, they've already been here for a long time. You can continue with your "know it all" attitude or you can start to learn how it really is from those who've promoting and running cam sites for a decade.

cam_girls 06-10-2009 06:39 PM

Ah right, what was it $3 million to start up atleast, if I'm lucky?
You don't have a link for ALL the big sites initial investments do you?

The AWE owner didn't say how far off the figures were. Camgirls get 35% to 40%
and affiliates lose their commision after 14 days. Hosting and CC fees, 3% there.
My figures are approximations and you have not refuted anything. The income and
traffic estimates of the large sites match my own stats for the quality of cam traffic,
maybe your friend was buying rubbish traffic.

They were actually run by someone with a brain.

Sean 06-10-2009 09:51 PM

if you get a chance, you should really pay attention to what slav was talking about. he knows his stuff.

camgirlslive.com is a white lable of cams.com. instead of directing camgirls.com to a site, you should white lable it so you keep branding your domain name versus branding someone elses. if you are interested in doing something like that, we have an automated tool inside our webmaster area where you can set that up right now and get it live

sextoyking 06-10-2009 09:56 PM

Cam_girls,

I just read this thread and thought I would post a little bit of advice - take it for what you will...

I have been in this industry online since 1994 and buying / selling domains since about 1995.

You have a very good domain and I actually don't think you did too bad at 350k.

If you let it sit parked and do a aff page or whitelabel site mabey you recroup the 350k in 8-10 yrs or so, I don't know forsure as I am not and have never been in the cam game at all...

If I bought that name and wasn't just going to sit on it and mabey flip it a few yrs from now for a profit which you could do - I would look closely at doing a partnership with a company or someone in the "cam game" who knows or has traffic, has some coin, etc, etc.

There is nothing wrong with being "new in this industry" but open your eyes - especially to people in the know... Don't waste your time with the haters and trolls - there everywhere..

Nothing wrong with asking for help and also experimenting with different things / programs, etc on your domain..

You own the domain (building) - now it's time to "lease / develop the land out - so to speak....

Peace

Todd

There is definitely a striking resemblance. Noob bursts on the scene and thinks he knows how to do everything even though dozens of people that have gone through trial and error over the years try and help to no avail.

Lol, you think hosting and cc fees are only going to be 3%, just wow. Some of the largest cam sites have laid out all of the % in old posts, do some research. Also, AWE is the only cam site that has 14 day revshare, everyone else is lifetime.

Weren't you behind a cam program that started up 3-4 years ago that didn't last long. Maybe you can give this guy a clue on all that it takes to start a successful cam program from the ground up, he seems to think that a name alone will guarantee success.

Then once you have maybe spent a fortune and got your site running and super amounts of spending traffic..... whats your plan to crush the titans such as cams.com/livejasmin/videosecrets etc......or at least whats the plan to make them go to your site ?.

Bottom line is simple ...a domain is one thing...turning it into a multi million dollar business is something totally different.

Just my 2 cents. :2 cents:

Ps. nice domain though :thumbsup

It isnt as simple as he makes it sound otherwise we would be knee deep in cam sites..... well said Claire
