Good job John, good to see you guys going into more of a webmaster market and not a program market.
Only 1 suggestion from another programmers point of view... SEO links, SEO links, SEO links! http://www.dailyvids.com/video.php?video_id=1653 That URL is ugly and not very SE friendly... Most people will want some kind of SE friendly URL, put that feature in ASAP. Other than that, good job and it looks nice. |
FYI A lot of videos are not loading.

Most of my sites use a URI handler I wrote myself that pretty much makes every page look like it's own single .html document in the root folder. For example: Index - mysite.com/index.html Videos - mysite.com/videos.html Most Viewed - mysite.com/most-viewed.html Video Page - mysite.com/the-title-of-the-video.html Makes it cleaner and not a very long url, but also makes search engines feel like it's a more static site and not dynamic, which means more trust. |

You should move me out to TMM's location, hire me to play with your kitty cat all day long, and drive your lambo, and we'll be good. :thumbsup |

On a serious note we have paid relocation costs in the past, feel free to shoot a resume over to albright/toomuchmedia/com if you might be interested :) |

Congrats on the new software and good luck! :)

John,
You know I'm interested and this falls right into a project I'm working on. Please put me in your list of paying beta testers. :) |

Any estimate as to when it can be purchased?

Would also be nice to have it be able to rip galleries and unite the videos into a seamless experience... I believe nubiles tube script does this...
So if a gallery has 4 vids in it the nubiles script will show you one pic with the mouse over animation... Then when you go to the videos page it shows all four clips... But if you click #1 it will skip to #2 immediately after playing... and so on... Turns 4 - 0:1:20 videos into 5 minutes 20 seconds.. Something the surfer might actually click on... Once they see 2 minutes or 1:20 they quickly find another tube site with 20 minutes... |
I looked at the demo (I know it's basic demo).
Just a question or two (btw this movie is not loading for me) http://www.dailyvids.com/video.php?video_id=1657 Can I have an image on the movie instead of the blank pre-roll.... Can I put a link in the description of the movie? (to sponsor off course) Can I put my own player in or am I stuck with the default one or do you have others available? Can I change the size of the thumbs on the main page and the layout should I not want the current setup on the demo? I like to tinker with things such as the player page and so forth can I make changes myself or is the player page zen encoded? The register page is pretty basic can I add or do you plan on adding things to it such as capthcha? it would be nice to be able to add your own fields. also the layout is messed up (top header) In IE7..... Thanks:) |

You would have to pay per month $15 for 7 years to make it to $1500 Very reasonable. |

The leasing part is a big turn-off, plus it looks like a very basic script (from the url you posted).
|
btw, John, besides the link structure, my suggestion would be to work it all out as divs instead of tables, I think the day a tube site uses divs instead of tables it will make a killing since you can do almost anything in terms of layout with exactly the same source code. If not possible, at least it would be a nice idea to give IDs to the tables/rows/cells/whatever to improve manageability, the sample at Dailyvids is nice but not only uses tables, but the styles are like .style1 .style2 .style3 .... .styleN which is the most anti-intuitive thing that can be done.
Just a suggestion, of course. To me, customization and the ability to make changes on the fly are the most important part in a(n already working) script and so far I can see most scripts fail at it. The first one to achieve it will have a competitive advantage over all other scripts IMHO PS: I love the price structure :) |

Welcome to the tube market John. The more choices webmasters have the better. :thumbsup

PS: John knows I'm one of his biggest supporters, hence the suggestions :winkwink: PS2: As a designer, I only need to know how to design, not how to code. In my case, I've my above average share of coding knowledge (at least for a designer) and I've a coder of my own, but 99% of designers don't know how to code and they aren't supposed to either. So, in this business, most clients will want everything: the design and the code, and they'll need 2 different people to do that. So, any script having it all without tables (or at least with ID'ed tables) will save the client time and money, hence the script will be bought by more people :2 cents: |
Sweet, John! I just icq'ed you.
