I'm totally ambivalent to this situation, but it is interesting and I read th whole 3 pages and this is why I'm quoting this as it was in my head the whole time - you pay what you owe first, and what's left you us for whatever you want, whether it be a boat, a car, a house, a lawyer, a bond whatever - but you pay your dues that are owed. This "affiliate pot" isn't something that can be used for tough times - it's stuff to be used to pay dues. Nothing less, nothing more.

I think if there was a weekly update thread with a post by Aga or Meat in it every month instead of the when will I be paid thread that's on the pond right now we wouldn't be seeing all these threads popping up on other boards.

So let’s ask ourselves this. If they do end up paying affiliates after this supposed court case. Will these sheep still follow them and send sales? Will the advertisers of the forum keep buying ad space.
I sure hope not. What if they have a divorce from their wife’s and she takes ½, and they need money to cover that? Will they do it again. Of course they will.
If they do it once, they will do it again. The company and brand Netpond is only losing value right now, not gaining it. Now even if they do pay, they will have people following them around making sure to let everyone know of this 3 month hold on payments. So why waste you hard earned traffic and money promoting this program? If affiliates were what they truly cared about, they could have take out a mortgage on their homes…taken out a 2nd mortgage, NOT moved to Spain… the list goes on. So let’s ask them this…if someone broke into their house and stole all their valuables, but left them a note saying “sorry, I have bills to pay. Hopefully I’ll bring your shit back”, would they have the same blasé attitude? Because that’s basically what they are doing.

As far as the Aga/Meat/non-payment thing goes I'll only say this --- affiliate money is affiliate money, a program has no right to touch it for court cases etc unless they first specifically ask affiliates if it's okay to use their money to try and save the program.

At this point I have little doubt that they're going to be paid eventually but in the end when a lot of their affiliates pull links and move on will it have all been worth it? Maybe should have just paid everyone and used their own money for court. :2 cents:

It might not even be resolved if they win the case, they also have to collect. Winning and collecting are not always the same. And few content providers today have the kind of cash this case seems to call for.
