Good question, I wonder how many of the oldskool webmasters who never innovated will keep on track in the next year.

2MuchMark 07-29-2009 04:34 AM

That's quite a story! Glad to see that you are pulling thru, and have come back to where you belong! I'm pretty sure that many of us reading this have learned lessons the hard way as well, so don't fret it. Take as much know-how as you can from this experience forward with you and you'll be alright.

Cheers!

Pornopat 07-29-2009 04:59 AM

I am sorry to read this all happened to you.
You are a good man and I am sure good carma will come to you.

MrMaxwell 07-29-2009 05:02 AM

Don't forget.. If you believe in Karma, then, by default this is also believed by you:
Karma is MADE.. by ME..

evie 07-29-2009 05:08 AM

Sorry to hear that Scott, Eva sends her love as well. This is Paul.

If we can do anything to help hit us up on ICQ. Got some free content if you need it.

Pete-KT 07-29-2009 05:18 AM

That's crazy sleazy. I'm glad to see you back on your feet and putting this behind you. Hit me up on icq later let's talk about some things

halfpint 07-29-2009 05:22 AM

Best of luck on getting yourself back on your feet :thumbsup

Iron Fist 07-29-2009 05:29 AM

Good luck and keep on truckin'

slapass 07-29-2009 05:33 AM

Keep in mind that everyone on this board who had some decent cash in 2006 has less now. Real estate, stocks, tgp's, paysites, domains have all gone down in value. You are not alone. Also if I remember right you were in another line of work before adult and successful so you have experience switching and remaking yourself. Still sucks but I am sure you will be fine.

:thumbsup

Miz_Wright 07-29-2009 06:06 AM

Scott, it takes balls to admit you've made mistakes.

Just like the stock market, all ventures need a sell strategy - a bit that all too often is missed in the planning.

It's good to have you back and hungry to make your way back up the food chain. Remember this bit: karma isn't for us to mete out; that will come to those on its own time. The question is this: do you make this a positive going forward?

the.drunk 07-29-2009 06:46 AM

good luck

Fletch XXX 07-29-2009 06:59 AM

Stand strong man, as an old client of mine, if there is anything I can do to help, you just say the word.

Ray Croc comes to mind.

Scott, Sorry to hear about all of the crap. I was there for you in the beginning and I will be there now for you. If you need anything...PLEASE contact me. Me and Wifey miss seeing you around. I think she has a crush on you ;)

best wishes scott....you will bounce back im sure

MediaGuy 07-29-2009 07:18 AM

Wow. Stunning news. You did good to go upfront about it, believe me I know from experience - about bankruptcies, ex-wives, and so on.

Glad I read it here first so I didn't fall on my ass when you tell me at the next show :P

What can I say? The reason sucks, but Welcome back! You were missed.

:D

quiet 07-29-2009 07:42 AM

holy shit. damn Scott... just, damn. i don't know what else to say.

candyflip 07-29-2009 07:42 AM

That's quite a story. I don't feel quite so bad about closing down my Deli now before it had a chance to clean us out too.

Bryan G 07-29-2009 08:21 AM

Sorry to hear, best of luck

Rochard 07-29-2009 09:12 AM

Wow. Interesting story.

Life has ups and downs. It's how you treat people when you up high that determines how your treated during your lows.

Socks 07-29-2009 09:43 AM

How did you keep shares in your corporations through bankruptcy? I thought they took all assets, including shares?

media 07-29-2009 09:52 AM

Fuck the haters Sleazy!!!! Rise and Fall is something many people go through, the roller coaster of life only goes down so far before it climbs right back to the next peak!

I've been through the fall after my lawsuit and divorce.. The blowback from it all was CRIPPLING and I'm still dealing with it.. but its getting a hell of a lot better than it was.

You're keeping your head up Scott, thats all that matters!!!

Loryn 07-29-2009 10:00 AM

Baby you totally rock!!! Your story is amazing. The fact that you took chances with risk, tells me that you will make it again because you have got "it" in you!!! That is what makes a person successful. Every person who has worked hard and has money has failed a hundred times. I have made a lot of money with the stock market and lost a lot of money with the stock market, and I know I will get there again one day, just like you will!!! You have the talent, the brains, and the heart to do it again and this time you will do it even better!!!

Welcome back my big huggy bear (hehe) I can't wait to hang with you again at all the shows and laugh. We have had some good times together and I am glad you are back so we can pick up where we left off. :winkwink:

I have only read your post in this thread so far, but I wanted to jump in and let you know how I feel and that I am glad you are back. Now I am going to read the thread. I am sure everyone is happy to have Sleazy back. I know you will be back on top very soon!!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

WOO HOO Sleazy's back baby!!! :banana :banana :banana

Just because endeavours fail doesn't make YOU a failure.

Pick your chin up off the floor, Scott. Bankruptcy was put into place for the very
reasons you stated. It's a huge club, including some pretty high powered members.

You live. You learn. And, then you get up, dust yourself off, and move on.

You did it six years ago. You'll do it now.

You are not a failure and by all means, keep calling out the idiots.

I wish you well.

corvette 07-29-2009 10:06 AM

hey scott, very candid post, your a bright guy and will bounce back from this, no doubt

PS i suggest you dont contact your ex-wife ;)

Penthouse Tony 07-29-2009 10:09 AM

Scott will rebound from this faster than everyone thinks. Wait and see.

who 07-29-2009 10:10 AM

OMGodfather this is serious business. And what a nice story.

I found someone to respect on here, I'm thrilled.

Kiwigirl 07-29-2009 10:11 AM

Despite everything that happened you still have your health!
Live, learn and become a wealth of knowledge from your previous experiences in life!
I am sure the road ahead is not going to be a smooth one as recovering from such an event has to be crushing emotionally and physically but as long as you are strong and have a great support system through friends and family you will bounce back! :)
I wish you the best of luck and success on all your future ventures!

Gabriel 07-29-2009 10:12 AM

Yikes.
Sorry to hear your misfortune.
Best of luck with your return.

On a lighter note, was Plaxico Burress in your club?

Raf1 07-29-2009 10:23 AM

it sounds like you had really bad luck. It's hard picking up from something like that but I'm sure you'll do well.

So much for calling people idiots left and right.

I really LOL'd at the irony.

:2 cents:

No, Smart people learn from their own mistakes, WISE people learn from others!!!

Also you put “Smart people learn from other people’s setback (s) not your own, the “your” should be “their”, now there's your irony!!! LOL

tony286 07-29-2009 10:33 AM

In the words of Tom Hopkins "stick with the girl you took to the dance. "
Sleazy there is no shame, you tired it didnt work. You move on,all that matters is you learned from it and grow from there.

benoitlc666 07-29-2009 10:38 AM

Welcome back my old friend.
Now I understand where you disappeared.
Everything happens for a reason, and I am where I am today thanks to all the mistakes I've made and learned from.
Also, when forced to live with minimum resources, I found the only needs that matter in life, basic needs: eat, drink, piss, shit, and sleep.
Lots of love, stand for yourself. Who cares what everyone else thinks, I don't even care what I think. Life is :)

xxxdesign-net 07-29-2009 10:39 AM

can't you sue the contractor? I mean going from $50k to $300k on a project is fraud ... I mean, one would think that he'd need to have an incredibly good reason to justify that... to a judge
