Hey, even the biggest and most successful companies of today have been through rough times, bankruptcies and restructuring. In business, every 6 months there will be a disaster. The important thing is you dealt with it, and now you have the opportunity to open a new chapter in your life. It took a lot of courage to come out with this and you get mad props from me for it. I am here and more than happy to do some biz with you and make some money together. You know where to find me ;)

Sleazy - I'm sure you don't care, and I know I don't. But even you of all people don't deserve to lose your empire. What you built online was admirable and I am sure you will rise up again.
I pretty much hate your "online persona" as you do mine. But from someone who has had nothing to another: Let me know if I can do anything.... "bro" I'm sure you'd offer the same to me despite our differences, and as someone who is in a position to offer now - let me know if you need anything. |

If misery loves company - here's mine in a nutshell:
Sunk about $1.75 million into a mainstream business trying to keep it going for many years, finally had to nuke it - took about 2 more years to get disentangled from all the employees, investors, and board. Learned a lot of hard lessons about business and am now 2+ years into a second (very profitable) venture. So - just keep on cranking on the things you know and love best, learn your lessons and you will prevail in time! :thumbsup |
So what's next, a sno cone stand in Gimli?

That sucks man, but remember, the smartest never let a bankruptcy defeat them. In fact, many use it as a business tool. Even some of the original creditors that got burned come back again to invest in a later round and make way more money back than they ever lost.
If business wasn't a huge gamble, it wouldn't be so lucrative. As someone with a real estate business on the mainstream side, I've seen A LOT of people lose EVERYTHING when the market crashed. It was a real wake up call for many. I also know people making a killing acting as vultures right now. I hope the one lesson you learned is never own a club. If you want to own a liquor business, buy some hole in the wall bar in a small town that is already profitable and then leave it be. For every successful club owner, I can point you to 3 that lost a ton of money and now have nothing to show for the effort. For as much as it costs to open a decent club ($2 to 7 million in my area), I've never understood why anybody would throw cash at it. (That is unless they are getting their money through other means and need a convenient cash business to run some money through.) |
could not have happened to a nicer person is all i will say.

you dont have to explain yourself to anyone here, its your business, if people want to poke, pry, and call you out they are obviously doing it because they dislike you or they think its cool.

But there is nothing shamefull about going bankrupt - it just one hell of a kick in the balls. Going bankrupt helps you remember not to make the same mistakes again, when you start a new business. |

I have friends in the bar business, and I think they only stay afloat down here because bars/clubs are 24 hours here, so there is 24/hour stream of drunks in new orleans. Not to mention Mardi gras, they make so much during mardi gras month it off sets all slow months. Clubs are ran slightly different, with Fri, Sat being the big days... unless you in cali where I know guys who have been very, very successful doing Thursday night clubs, but that is Los Angeles, and they are themed, like 80s night or goth night etc... |
Sorry to hear about all that, no doubt you will bounce back in no time!
